When the Kings drafted this guy I thought he could be the next Jason Terry, or the next Bobby Jackson. Turns out as a basketball player Q has got more in common w/Elmer Fudd.
This guy is destined to play for Barcelona Yahoos in the Spanish D-League.
You know your career is on life support when your primary skill as a player is shooting, and you can't shoot.
Q is the Shelden Williams of shooting guards, and we all know how well his career is advancing, like a snail in molasses.
One of the principles of offensive basketball is to gain an egde on your defender before attempting to score, in effort to get a high percentage shot. Q launches without gaining an advantage, without freeing himself, without any sort of juke moves, craftiness or creativity....resulting in low percentage floaters, hurried bombs, he looks as if he is playing hot potato with the basketball.
Missing shots wouldn't bother me if he did not clank with such hopeless futility.
Game winning potential shot against the Suns was NOT an in-and-out, heartbreaker, it was a wide open look that had NO chance the second it left his fingers! Barely made it to the front of the hoop, his only success was chipping paint off the rim....CLANK. Give that same shot to Cisco, K-Mart, even Bobbie Brown or Donte Green... all net, baby. Don't tell me about pressure, pressure is being down 1 point with the ball in your hands, not tied. 95-95 all is fun, go-go money time.
And last night Grant and Jerry cop for Q and his lack of crunch-time experience. 1.8 seconds is 1.8 seconds in anyones book. Does Q not understand the concept of time and space? His shot was not stemming from a lack of experience, it stemmed from stupidity and fear of success.
Thankfully, our GM is not stupid for declining to pick up his option. And thankfully Cisco or K-Mart will be back soon to take his minutes.
