Damn -- I was too lazy to do it, but several weeks ago I saw hoopshype doing those things, saw how awful their lists were for every other team, and was going to maybe preempt them by doing one of our own here before the numbnuts at hoopshype got started. Think I was to 28 before the daunting nature of the task timewise caused me to drop it.

Thanks, Brick. I tried the site a struggled to see a few pictures and no names. I appreciate seeing the list anyway. I can see how hard the task would even if limited to the Sacramento era. If any ten of us did the work to put our list together, the results would be ten valid but different lists.

It would be interesting to see a list of former Sacramento Kings players who have held the position of head coach in the NBA. There are a lot of them.

Personally, Sacramento Kings history starts in 1985. Just don't have a connection with players who played for cities half-way or all the way across the country. I guess that is what you inherit when you acquire an existing team rather than an expansion one. The top 50 Sacramento Kings list might not look that pretty anyways

Considering there are 26 Sacramento Kings players on the franchise's top 50 list, I'm not sure how many more current era names you could add without just looking ridiculous.

Did I miss Ron Artest and Danny Ainge? Those two should be on the list somewhere, probably Top 20 in the Sacramento era.

Good lawd.. Just take off the bottom 25 and it's a decent list. Otherwise that last 20-25 players are just roleplayers pretty much.

That's numbers 1 and 4 in my avatar. My gut feeling is that Jack Twyman should be a little lower that 2, but I'll admit I didn't see a lot of him playing. I'd put Vlade ahead of Peja; not sure if they're just before or just after Sam Lacey (Sacramento point of reference would be Tank Thompson, but better). Reminds me that I want to look up some footage of Tiny Archibald, because he was so fun to watch -- he looked like a high school kid playing against adults, but he'd score 30 with 15 assists.

Yes. Different era. :)

But if you look back at the stats back then, was basically the best rebounder in the league not named Wilt or Bill.
He's about 6'8", so he had a height disadvantage against Chamberlain and Russell, but he was also one of the best outside-shooting big men ever.
