Help...What do the Maloofs really want?

G-League
What do you all think? Are the Kings rebuilding or are the Maloofs just trying to save money? Or perhaps the Maloofs want to leave Sacramento and can use the declining attendance and lack of a new Arena as their excuse. I don't understand trading both Bibby and Artest and getting nothing back. If you think the Maloofs are really interested in rebuilding, could someone please explain their plan to me, because I am very discouraged and I don't see things getting better. :(

give it time rebuilding is a process and now we are smack bang in the middle of it with a few pieces to go. Id imagine the first thing the maloofs would do come summer is hire a coach and depending on if they go for a vet or another young, inexperienced, cheap filler to save money we will see if they truly are willing to spend.

I think it finally became obvious that there was no miracle trade that was going to bring us back to the top so they finally accepted that we are going to have to get worse before we get better. We have to build through the draft.

Whatever their intentions are, rebuilding is happening.

Draft pick by year

2002: #28 (traded away)
2003: #27 (traded away)
2004: #26
2005: #23
2006: #19
2007: #10
2008: #12
2009: #1 draft position currently, subject to lottery

It's not the most fun kind of progress, but it's still progress.

You rebuild by getting good players in the draft and getting FA room. There's nothing they can really do. We'll have to wait to see who we get in the draft and what pick we get, and we'll have to clear some salary cap room so we can add free agents.

We can only speculate on things that are going on as much as we want.

I think the Maloofs are trying both - rebuilding and trying to save money. The second of which is standard at the business standpoint. And we cannot fault them for being the businessmen they are. They own the team/business and they have to earn money out of their business.

If we think they are failing on both of their goals, our dissatisfaction should be directed to the one they hired to balance both - Petrie.

maloofs always wanted to go competitive and at the same time have that retooling process... unfortunately we dont have the one superstar caliber to do that

right now we are officially rebuilding.... i say they trade away salmons while he is still hot for a young rookie right now... gallinari or joe or who ever works...

the longer brad stays and plays the lower his chances are being traded.. he should have been traded before..

any ways im pretty sure now that they see that THEIR choices arent always the best... they struck out twice already....

with muss and with theus...

im saying they ought to let GP do his job now...

i remember those two coaching staff interviews...

first... GP brought mario elie, some other notable people and Maloofs got wowed by powerpoint muss..

next Stan van gundy cause he and GP were in good terms but maloofs fell for the media magnet theus... if we had SVG we could have had a competitive team at least...

When the Maloofs figure out what they want they'll let us know.
