Heat retire Marinos #??

Which is the part that bothers you? That Riley's a whore, or that there are no Heat player's numbers retired? Because what player's number would you have retired, that isn't still playing?

Neither...I just think it's rather silly and IMO idiotic for an NBA team to retire:

a. a player who didn't even play for their team and

b. to retire a player who not only didn't play for their team, but didn't even play in the NBA!!

Okay, I'm sorry but this just strikes me as even more pathetic than having a big giant numeral in front of your arena... and that's saying something.

Wait. Does this mean that no Miami Heat player can have a jersey with the numbers 13 or 23?

I mean, I don't have a problem with the franchise honoring iconic players that had nothing to do with the team itself, especially players like Jordan and Marino, but literally retiring their numbers? That's dumb.

This is WEIRD - it's almost as if they WANTED to have some retired numbers but didn't have any of their OWN players to retire, so they picked an iconic basketball player and a local star in a different sport- what???

I understand all baseball teams retiring Jackie Robinson's number. I don't understand the Heat retiring Jordan's number and I DEFINITELY don't understand them retiring a FOOTBALL players number!!!!!
