Just listening to these clips makes me realize what a coach he was. I just wish he would have been more candid like this before.

He was always this candid, but he never sought the limelight, so most folks just never got to know him or how he works. You get glimpses of how great a man and coach he is from bits and pieces here and there and that's it....

He also pointed out the truth wich you seem unable to remember. Like he said Chris was by far the best player on the floor for us once the playoffs started, and as he alluded to Vlade disapeared and Brad broke down like he has every year he has been here. When the regular season was over and the games really counted Chris was once again the one who stepped up, he gave Garnett one hell of a series. By the way he did not let Chris personality outrule his judgement, it was Ricks judgement that Chris gave them the best chance to win and like he said once the playoffs started Chris' play proved that.

I'm going to echo 6th here ... WORD! I believe every word of this, and believe that Rick was doing what he thought was best for the team. Webber's performance in those playoffs was the only thing that gave us a fighting chance.

I also think that if Rick had brought Webber back in slowly and Webb had performed poorly in the playoffs, people would have been quick to blame him for not getting Webb back in condition. Sometimes coaching is a lose/lose situation because hindsight makes things easier to judge.
