Mason to retire number tonight
Former Mason High School and Michigan State standout Kristin Haynie will have her No. 10 Bulldogs jersey retired tonight before a varsity home game against Jackson Northwest.
The varsity game likely will start between 7 p.m. and 7:30 p.m., after the conclusion of the junior varsity game.
Haynie also will sign autographs during halftime of the varsity game.
She recently finished her first season with the WNBA champion Sacramento Monarchs.
She led the Spartans to the NCAA championship game last winter as a senior and finished as the school's all-time leader in steals and assists.
Haynie was the State Journal Player of the Year, a Class A all-state selection and runner-up for Michigan's Miss Basketball award as a senior in 2000.
