any update on the current condition of hawes knee?

i really hope its nothing serious and that all he needs to do is rest

poor kid a few weeks and hell be 21 too

get better Spence!

He said it is feeling better, but he is still getting a "precautionary MRI" later today.

"Initially, I thought it was worse than it was," Hawes said after the loss before an announced crowd of 15,823 at the Pepsi Center. "It swelled up a little bit at first. … It was scary for a few minutes. But the Nuggets' doctor (Steve Traina) did the tests and said the structural stuff looked good.
"(The MRI is) more precautionary than anything. I think I'm lucky considering how I felt and how it looked."

Nah, for once it isn't TDOS...it's 'TWOS': the WELCOME off season.:)

I think we should def. sit him the final game, even if he's 100 %. The last thing we need is to lose a piece of our future in the 82nd game of a 60-loss season.

It will always be TDOS to me, for the simple reason good or bad we won't have much basketball to talk about aside from the draft and a new head coach... I want my NBA basketball 24/7/365!!!

I have a feeling that ping-pong day, the draft, the coaching selection, and FA are going to keep us fairly busy.:)

True enough, but those are just appetizers, teasers to pass the time until October...

I hope he's ok. He should rest it for the last game, no need to put more pressure on it...I didn't get to see the game - does anybody have a clip of Spencer's fall?

Yeah... i cant wait for lotto day though... I hope to God we don't just get screwed. This draft pick is CRUCIAL to our future. It can mean the difference between a quick 2 year comeback or 4 years of mediocrity. We need to make the best of it that we can. Thats why getting the 4 pick scares the hell out of me.

The team's official update after the MRIfrom the Kings website:

http://www.nba.com/kings/news/hawes_injury_update041309.html

Tuesday, April 13 [sic], 2009 SACRAMENTO, CA ---- An MRI taken today at the UC Davis Medical Center in Sacramento confirmed that Kings center Spencer Hawes suffered a left knee strain in the first quarter of Monday’s game (4/13/09) versus the Denver Nuggets. Hawes will miss the Kings’ season finale tomorrow (4/15/09) in Minnesota against the Timberwolves.

The important thing is they found no structural damage to the knee.
