Have we destroyed Marcus Thornton?

Chuck Hayes is a guy you sign when you're a team on the cusp and need a veteran guy to grab you some boards and do dirty work. He's not a guy you go after when you're a lottery team. A good player, but a bad signing. Just one more example of the organization having no vision of a future and certainly no detailed plan.
 
To be fair, there cant be much of a plan when you arent allowed to spend over the salary cap and have to compete with teams that exceed the cap by 15-45 million. What kind of a plan could one come up with that would make any kind of a difference given this situation?
