Jason Hart is a fourth-year point guard that Sacramento recently acquired from the Charlotte Bobcats, after averaging 9.5 ppg (.449 FG%, .368 3pt%, .785 FT%), 2.7 rpg, 5.0 apg, 1.34 spg, and 25.5 mpg in 74 games during the 2004-05 season. Jason sat down with Kings.com to answer five questions on Friday

How did you feel about coming to Sacramento?
Jason:“I was really excited. I played with Charlotte and we played our hearts out, but obviously didn’t win a lot of games. Anytime you can be apart of a winning tradition and winning organization, it takes it up three or four notches. Every home game here you expect to win and that’s what you want as an athlete.”

Did you have any idea you would get traded after your best season in the NBA?
Jason: “I didn’t know. With (Charlotte) drafting (Raymond) Felton, they were building for the future and I didn’t know what I was going to do. A lot of teams emerged like Utah, but when my agent called me and told me I was a King I jumped for joy. I’m from LA and family is very important to me, and being able to have my family come up and watch me play made everything that much more exciting.”

So we can assume that you were a Lakers fan then?
Jason: “Yeah, but I was already told about that. I grew up a Lakers fan, but that was a different era. I grew up with the 80’s Lakers and Magic. Now it’s the 2000 Lakers, and having played with San Antonio you’re taught to hate the Lakers. So coming here won’t be that different.”

What can Kings’ fans except from you?
Jason: “I’m just going to come in and do what I can to get on the court. Once practice starts I want to bring the energy defensively and just do the little things to keep the team glued together. A lot of time the glue guys are really important.”

How do you feel about getting to play in front of the ARCO crowd?
Jason: “Great, because I play with emotion. So don’t be surprised if I get a steal and I try to get the crowd going. I’ve played at Syracuse with all the fans and emotion. When the crowd is behind you, your game just takes off.”

Ronnie Price is an undrafted rookie out of Utah Valley State who played for the Kings in the 2005 Vegas Summer League and impressed the front office enough to earn a contract from Sacramento. Ronnie sat down with Kings.com to answer five questions on Friday (8/5/05)

How has the ride been to get to where you are today?
Ronnie: “It’s been a journey, but everything has worked out for the best and I’m excited. I had a couple of teams that had contacted my agent and that had wanted to bring me into camp, but of course, if you have the opportunity to play and be a King you’re going to take that.”

What did you like most about the Kings that made you want to sign here?
Ronnie:“The organization, the coaching, just everything. It’s a great group of guys and I just want to surround myself with great people and fortunately it worked out.”

Do you feel confident about securing a roster spot in October?
Ronnie:“You have to have that mindset. Being a basketball player, you have to have a little bit of confidence, but also be humble and understand that all these guys are great players. You just have to find a way to fit in, play your game, and hopefully it’ll work out.”

How did you find out the Kings wanted to offer you a contract?
Ronnie: “My agent called me while I was leaving Vegas. I wasn;t really sure what to do, I didn’t know what to say or how to react—it was just a blessing. I called my mom first after that.”

What do you hope to accomplish this upcoming season?
Ronnie: “Jason Hart and Mike Bibby are great guys, I’m just going to learn from them. They’ve been in the NBA for awhile and they know how it works, especially from a guards standpoint. I’m just going to try and find my niche to help these guys get better.”
