Although the thread is clearly marked *with spoilers," I had to jump in and take a peek, Evenstar. I have read all the books, so I know what happens. I just wanted to see what you had to say since the review I read yesterday tore it up a bit. It was one of the most exciting of the books, so I have been waiting impatiently for the movie to be released.

I am glad you thought it was well done, and I can't wait to see it. Maybe I will get my tickets early and go watch it the day after Thanksgiving. Oh yeah! Can't wait! :D

oh it was brilliant 6th. i do have to admit, the pacing was a little fast, and there were a few things that did tick me off a little bit, but overall i was able to let those things go.

there were some absolutly pricless scenes. when harry figures out the clue for the 2nd task, in the prefect's bathroom, that is one hilarious scene.

the twins are featured a lot more in this movie, and they are so funny. seems kinda like they are setting up for the 5th movie, GAWD i can't wait for that one, their "grand exit" oh gawd that is going to be freaking awesome.

ron was so funny in this one too. rupert grint is fantastic, once again stealing the show with his priceless facial expressions.

i can not wait to see this again. it's a great movie

It was a wonderful movie. My wife saw it and thought it was good, but she hasn't read the books. If you have read the books then you will love this book.

I DID cry in the graveyard scene and when Harry goes back with Cedric's body.

Very well done movie.

Wow!! I can't wait to see the movie soon! I should be able to see it this week. I have read all the books and this was my favorite one out of the whole seeries!! If this was a bad movie then I think hte rest of them will, but I heard it is a great movie and look foreward to seeing it!

I heard it was a little scary as well!

Can't wait to see it my self. Read all the books and noticed that it was definatly at Goblet of Fire the series took a decidely dark turn, so dark in fact I would hesitate to read the last three to small children. But this BIG kid loved them.

Ok, here is my 2 cents about it. First of all, this is my favorite book BY FAR in the series so I have been dying to see this movie. There were so many great scenes in this movie, particularly the graveyard and the prefect bathroom (as previously mentioned). I also really enjoyed the second task underwater.

My only complaint is that I felt that there could have been better character development of all of the new characters. I felt they didn't do enough with Krum and Fleur to make them the stand out characters they could have been. In the book they all were very resentful of Harry at first (because he wasn't supposed to be in the tournament) but grew to respect him throughout the tasks, and I felt that part was missing. The movie was 2 1/2 hours (while the rest have been around 3, right?), so why couldn't they add a little extra time and put more character stuff in it?

I'm done complaining! All in all, it was a great movie and all of the important scenes lived up to my expectations. I'm sure I'll be seeing it again and buying the DVD.

Thanks for your comments, And1. I can't wait to see the movie. I plan on seeing it the day after Thanksgiving. I am working 2 jobs and, fortunately for me, I have Thurs and Fri off from both jobs.

and1, i agree with you about the character development. krum and fleur weren't in it as much as i had hoped. one things i was looking foward to was hearing her talk, since i loved ready her dialouge in the book so much.

one thing that really pissed me off was they showed the staduim and the intro's for the world cup, but not a single moment of action! geez, at least show krum finding the snitch.

the pacing was a bit too fast for my liking, but i realize they need to keep the running time down since the target audience is kids. i'll be really pissed if the next movie isn't 3 hours since it's just as long as the GOF book.

i'm so going to see this again, probably on tuesday :D

i thoroughly enjoyed it, not having read this book yet, i couldn't pick it apart. i did find myself annoyed that they couldn't figure out what mad eye moody was sooner, seemed to unlikely that someone didn't catch on sooner...kids loved it, some parts scared myself and my youngest. Very well done movie, I really liked the Yule ball part...;)

Evenstar - I bet you will like the movie even better the second time now that you know what to expect from it. I am hoping that they will put extend the scenes on the DVD (like they did for Lord of the Rings) since they won't have to worry about running time. Have fun seeing it again!

yeah i agree i was pissed too because i always loved the quidditch scenes in the previous movies. but it really was the best one so far. I loved scene wiht ron and mcgonalgal that was hilarious. lots of humor in this one. i thought they should've mentioned winky though.

Saw it on Saturday, and thought it was pretty good. There was so much missing from the book, but I know they needed to do that. I agree, they could've developed the other champions a bit more too. And it did seem to pass really fast. Dumbledore was featured a bit more too. I loved seeing more of the twins, they crack me up. I also liked seeing Neville's character doing more. He's that quiet geek, who'll surprise us later in the scheme of things.

I think those who haven't read the book will really like it too, you really won't know what's missing! But it's still a great story.

I'll probably see it again to catch more of the details.

I agree with the pace comments. I would have been fine with the movie being 3 or 4 hours, but thats just me. ;)

The next moview is going to have to be REALLY long, or they are going to have to cut tons.

That being said I thought it was a great adaption of the book.

I saw it last Friday. I've never read any of the books but I've seen all the movies and I thought it was the best one so far. I'm really into sports so the whole sports aspect of it is what really made me enjoy it. And also the fact that there were new characters. I did want to learn more about the new characters though, but all in all, it was a great movie.

i saw it again on sunday. it was just as good.

i really hope they do what they did with LOTR, make the theatrical version, put that out on DVD, then put out an extended version on DVD later on. it worked great for LOTR, they made major bank in the theatres and the first DVD. the extended edition gave the die hard fans a chance to see a better apadtation of the book.

the deleted scenes are one thing, but i'd like to see them integrated into the movie. maybe then we could see the quidditch cup, more character development, more the maze scene, as that was a great challenge in the book that i felt they could have done much better on.

now that i've seen it twice, dan radcliffe IS harry potter. i think he was much better in this one. the only problem i have with him is the crying, he's just not very good at making that believeable, but i can deal with that. i had tears in my eyes during the scene when he brought cedric back. his dad running down just broke my heart. speaking of that scene, that is the only decent music in the whole movie! who's brilliant idea was that to get rid of john williams, this soundtrack was a JOKE! he must be back for the 5th movie!!!!

the graveyard scene is my favorite, oh i love that. i just adore ralph fiennes as voldemort, he rocked, but i do have to say him not having a nose was kind of destracting. hahah i was spending a lot of the time staring at his nose going hmmmm where is that nose! but he looked the part very much as to what i pictured voldemort looking like. i can't wait to see him in the next movie and beyond. hahah i'm already looking forward to the 7th movie and the book won't come out for probably another 2 years ( grrrr)

and you know i'm going again LOL!!! what can i say, my pal works at the theatre and can get me in free, so i'll go as many times as i can ;)

I liked the soundtrack. Its certainly not John Williams, but I liked the dark feeling the music gave to the movie.

As for Harry crying; I think he did a fine job. He is supposed to be hysterical, and that is exactly what he was. This wasn't supposed to be a sappy tear rolling down the face cry. What sold the scene for me was when he was yelling and hysterical over Cedric's body while everyone else didn't realize what was going on.

i did love the music during cedric's death. i even downloaded the songs off itunes. i love the depth in it. thats a keeper. i'll have to listen to the soundtrack again, but i was disappointed in it compared to the other flims. i got SO excited after hearing the POA soundtrack, gawd i LOVE that CD, so this was a huge step down, but alas, i am willing to give it another shot

I have my tickets for tomorrow. I shall spend the day with all the kids whose parents drop them off there while they are shopping The Day After Thanksgiving sales. I must be crazy.........oh wait.........I am. :D

Yay!! I finally saw the movie!! A great omvie too! A little bit of everything.

Many funny moments and which I enjoyed were the Maoning mrtyle scene with Potter and the scene with Fred and George and Ron all trying to find their dates and Snape always having to hit them with their heads. It was kinda weird seeing Voldermort without his nose and made me sniff a little more than I had too. SOme scary parts during the end and was sad about Diggory.

I did picture the Patels(Indian Girls) to be like that though. I didn't really know they would be Indian lol! I LOVED the Yule Bal l parts. Many things to see. Also, in the end there was much skipped. They didn't even say who won the Tournament so I was a little ticked their but all in all great movie.

Also malfoy wasn't in teh movie as much but te other kid who wnet out Ginnny in the Ball was in a lot. Forgot his name. Now I know how a perseive or dream thingie is like because there ewas a lot in teh last book.

Rubert was VERY funny in this movie and Hermoine was funny and a very good actor in this one. Moody was a great actor him and his drinks. Forgot what happened in the book and So a litlle surprised in the end when he changed.

This movie was the best so far and I will contiue to see the movies and read the books. ANyone have any comments about my commentsor agree or disagree?

:D

:D

I finally saw the movie yesterday. I am ready to see it again.

You are right that there was much more humor. Moaning Myrtle and Harry were hilarious.

There were more scary scenes in this one. They did a fabulous job setting us up for the frightening parts by really playing on all the humor.

I too thought it was the best movie thus far, but then I have loved the 4th and 5th books the best........well, maybe #6 is right in there too. :p

WellI saw Goblet of Fire last night and I have to say I was more than a little disapointed. I understand that thebok had to be streamlined to fit into a 2 hr movie, but way too much was gone (espcially the entiere clasist sub plot with the House Elves) I am pleased to hear that people who had not read the books were able to track the story. I do aprove of Ralph Finnens as Voldemort

Took 10 kids to see it for my daughter's bday and we all loved it. I haven't read the books but my daughter and her friends have. I was bombarded with questions (mostly from the girls) on why so many things from the book weren't in the movie. The first question from the girls was why didn't they have the kissing scene!!!!!!! Preteen girls have their priorities. They figure it will be in the extra scenes on dvd.

I thought it was the best movie so far!!
