Harrington says he'd go to Denver

1) Peja to Denver has always made sense as a potential deal -- cures their shooting. We also have KT, who culd be of value to them with their suffering frontcourt. Load them up to make a run this year. What they have for us is Nene, maybe Watson maybe Najera? Nene would be the prize, and amove for the future.

2) I am as fundamentally unafraid of Peja on another team as I could be of any NBA player. Doesn't have an ounce of stick it to you in him, nor does he have the one on one forceable game to force the action anyway. You don't trade your SUPERSTARS in conference (normally). Your mere stars are no biggee.

3) Nene is likely out for the season, but its "only" an ACL, which in the modern era is actually a recoverable injury. Still a valued young big man that every tema wil be looking at this offseason. Trading for him means we get first crack + a chance to match any offer.

4) All of the above said, the "rumor" in that story really looks like another one of those "makes sense" rumors where the guy was putting together the same factors I just did (they need shooting, we want Nene). And none of that stuff ever seems to matter when it comes to Peja. In Geoff's mind Peja for MJ is a bad deal.

But at what cost? I like Nene, don't get me wrong, but what is he realistically worth to other teams? Other DESPERATE teams. I don't want to be paying this kid a max deal just as much as I don't Peja.

Earl Watson is the price, if we can get him and Nene that would be great. I like EW defense and energy. He would play a lot taking BJ role. The problem is Denver already have Carmelo.

Nene is not going to get a max deal. He's going to get a lot, but not the max. He has loads of potential and he is very young. Bring him in and move Reef to the 3 with Watson backing Mike up. The more I think about it the more I like the thought of it. I would hope that Petrie would throw 9-11 mill a year at a guy like Nene rather than Peja.

What is Harrington thinking... is he not strictly a forward? I don't see him getting significant minutes behind Melo and Martin. I don't see how that's a good situation for him. He played 30 minutes his last two years in Indy and was a 6th man candidate, for a championship caliber team, yet wanted to be traded.

I wouldn't send Peja to Denver. What we get back would not be worth it. Nene is injured, and probably won't be back this year. Then he's a FA (Restricted) this summer. You'll have to give him a sizable contract without knowing if he's still got it, or how he fits in. Watson and Najera would not be enough. I am curious as to where Denver would play Peja, whether he'd be their SG, or would they move Carmelo down. Outside of Carmelo, they don't have anybody that I'd move Peja for. Nene was a prospect, but not now with his injury and his contract coming up.

We are going nowhere with Peja this year and I believe that he will walk at the end of year. The Kings are not utilizing him like they should and he has to realize this. Watson would be one of the best backup pg's in the league and Nene has more upside than Peja does right now. Nene will be healthy and since he is a restricted FA we will be able to match anything that comes his way. Move Reef to the 3 and re-sign Bonzi and 1-4 (Bibby, Bonzi, Reef and Nene) we would be looking good. Who knows what to do with Miller.

I have no problem w/ this trade, Nene, Watson, Lenard for Peja and KT would be awesome. Nene is only 23 and he will be good for the future because this season is basically gone............
