Gray makes room for Bhullar?

This opens spot at end of Kings bench for Sim Bhullar it would seem. Gray rarely played with Sim likely in similar situation. Otherwise, look for Hibbert to be in Sactown next season in sign and trade deal for IT and JT - that's the plan right?!?!

Hope not. Rather have Bhullar. Don't want Hibbert.

Bhullar isn't physically ready for even 5-10 minutes per night right now. If he really focuses in the Dleague, maybe by end of season but realistically he's at least a season away.

No, you really wouldn't. Bhullar's a fun story and I for one hope he makes the end of the roster. but there is no proof he's an actual serious ready to play minutes NBAer, as opposed to just kind of a freakish specimen. Hibbert has been the starting center on two ECF teams. Flawed or not, they are not on the same plane.

Please no...there has to be better options than a 7'4 300 plus pound indian who won't make a nba roster.

Sim Bhullar needs to lose weight and get a little quicker on the court. The only thing is I think he could really bolster our defense and rebounding. I hope he makes it and am hoping the best for him since he's Sikh as I am Sikh as well, but I can see all the things that Sim needs to work on.

You know you're desperate when your putting your hopes on Sim Bhullar. Jeez our frontline is garbage outside of Cousins.

Yeh anything to help the team improve. If he does not play at least he can bring a postive, optimistic mindset to the Kings!!!! Just anything to make the team win!!!!

I doubt he even makes the roster! There is a greater chance he will be at Reno than on the Kings roster! If we are pinning our hopes on Bhullar, we are in all sorts of trouble!

Nobody is placing a bunch of hope in Bhullar. The discussion is about a possible replacement for Aaron Gray. With that said, does he have the potential to play the roll that Gray does, with an even bigger body and shot blocking? Yes, he has a chance to

I'm pinning my hopes on Sim. ;) Really, he needs a year or two in Reno. He seems to be very coachable and his major problem is cardio I am assuming. I don't expect much from him but he IS 7'5" which has a place in the game of basketball. I REALLY don't understand why he quit college. Seems like a bad move on his part.

Someone said that Hibbert/Cousins would be a bad combo because Cousins can't guard 4's. I disagree. He might not be an ideal defender at that position, but there aren't a ton of 4's in the league that would really give him much trouble on that end of the floor. Likewise, he'd be a nightmare for them to guard in the post. The two of them would easily make the best front court in the league and help our defensively challenged guards if/when they give up the drive.

By the way, where is the Hibbert talk coming from? I haven't seen anything about that, yet.

Thanks for the perspective on my post. I can see that they are two separate issues - unrelated really. I don't want Hibbert. I wish Bhullar good luck on the long road he would have to travel to make an NBA roster and get to play minutes.

Sim will not see the roster at the start of the season. Can almost guarantee it. He's way to slow to get back on defense. The NBA game is way to fast for him to be useful.

gray was an unrestricted free agent, so he was off the books either way.

JT as a backup C is way better than Sim. I'm still looking for a C replacement. We're all sure JT is leaving right? The one I'd like to come back would be Samuel Dalembert.

Not a fan of Hibbert myself, the guy is 7'2 and he is a non factor on the glass?! He was beyond awful in the playoffs, looked like he'd never laced up before.

No thanks.

I think Sim is an nba player. Very limited minutes and only being able to play in slower paced games will be his limiting factors. In a half court set for 10 min/game I think he can play.

He gets winded after a few trips up the court in college. His defense right now involves standing in the key and not moving, which is illegal and impractical in the NBA. He lacks strength and gets moved around easily.

There is a chance that playing a season in the Dleague and really focusing on these things makes him a guy that can play spot minutes in the league but right now he's just not there.

It really depends. A lot of these freakish height people are just too slow to play at the pro level. You think IT has bad defense, the guy that Sim would be guarding would have a clear lane to the hoop almost every time because Sim would still be trying to run down the floor.

here he is playing lock down d on DMC.

I separated out the Bhullar stuff from the Hibbert discussion (which stems from the IT/JT for Hibbert trade thread) as they're different discussions. :)

He needs to lose 40 pounds. I'd like to see that happen and how he is able to play.

Bhullar is only somewhat more mobile than Mount Rushmore. As others have said, maybe he drops a ton of weight in the D-League or Europe before making a real run at the NBA. Summer league may be rough for him. The NBA isn't going to happen, at least, this year.
