i liked kenny thomas..and i hate to...well hate on him

BUT HOW DUMB CAN YOU BE..

WE NEED EVERY WIN...AND YOU GET YOURSELF EJECTED...

ive played soccer more years then i can damn well count..and i havent even seen teenage boys be so ****ing stupid...

im sorry...but this is ridiculous...artest is the one thats supposed to blow up...and as of now hes one of the three people left on our starting unit to not get ejected...

kenny needs to go..im sorry...but if we cant trade him...waive him...

all hes done is complain about starting...caused problems..i will admit he pulls in boards..but hes a 6'7" PF...its time we get an upgrade, since obviously we are going to keep a center that cant rebound/ is allegeric to the areas of the court that have paint on them - Then again im used to CWebb...so im spoiled

Well, they have won a few without me in the audience.

Somehow.

Oh yeah, for the sake of accuracy, they also win when I attend games on the road.

Just in case, could someone please get GGG tickets for next Sunday?? My 7 year old son won tickets at his school jog-a-thon, and he is so excited I would really like to guarantee a win...

I don't have a grade, just my thoughts.

You look at it as a question of the players you have playing, their skills, talents, faults and abilities, and the system or scheme they are working within.

The team misses Martin more than I thought they would. This is mianly because Martin creates space for others in the offense more than anyone else on the roster. Yes, Artest draws double teams, but doesn't create space since he clogs up the middle. When Martin cuts, he draws defenders with him which opens up space for the post player. When the defenders don't follow, Martin is open for a layup. When they follow but do not rotate, he is open for an outside shot which HE can hit. Artest and Bonzi are not making their outside shots and are not reliable in doing so. When Bonzi or Artest cut, they stay in the middle.

So with no Martin, you have Bibby, Bonzi, Artest, Miller and Thomas. Miller and Thomas haven't had a real good game lately. Bonzi and Artest are shooting poorly from the outside and mostly scoring inside. Bibby is not a creator and has been shot-happy as of late. You not only do not have movement, you don't have players prone to creating a lot of movement. Noone is being shy about saying Bonzi or Thomas are making bad passes and turnovers, but everyone is overrating Artest's ability to create shots for others in the post. Yes, he is a better passer than either of those two and he demands double teams, but he always passes too late. By the time the ball leaves his hands, the space created and passing angles opened are gone. He is an alright passer, but not a timely passer. Miller is the best creator/passer, but he is forcing things and shooting subpar.

And for the question of scheme, there really isn't one. There are post plays run for Artest, but there seems to be few options planned off of it. It's just throw it in and will it to happen. A couple weeks ago the Kings were willing everything to happen, but the observant eye could still see there was no real offensive system in place.

And a final thing, outside of this stuff, is that the team has an attitude problem. When you have two ejections in two games, you have an attitude problem. When Bibby shakes his head at the coach for telling him to stop jacking up threes, then you have an attitude problem. This isn't from Artest. This likely sprouted during the early losses and lack of leadership. Now Artest is the leader, but he isn't really a leader on the offensive end and I think he's quite honestly naive to the offensive problems the team has. Bibby wanted to be the man, this is his time to do it by running the offense.

Good post swisshh. Very interesting. Could Martin be that much of a difference already!?!

Er...

Kevin played in Indiana. Minnesota. Seattle. Los Angeles.

He has not played vs. Utah. Golden State. Washington.

When you are in a 7 game slump, and a guy played in 4 of those 7 games, how can his presence or lack thereof be the reason its happened?

We could use Kevin -- need every available talented player now to pull out of this. But this slump started wiht Kevin in the starting lineup, picked up momentum on a night when he played well in 40 minutes (Minnesota), and has continued right on with or without him. Have to look elsewhere for the cause.

F - to Kenny Thomas for getting ejected because he couldn't keep his mouth shut. I don't know if the foul was really flagrant or not, and I don't particularly care, but when the game is tight you shut up when the ref warns you!

I am giving K9 a B+. Love the hard foul. Butler is going off.....Bonzi takes a shot in the nose....it is time to bring the smack- down......"Look Mom - we ain't the softest team in the NBA anymore."

wow... this team sucks something serious.

Jeez.......can everyone just chill for a minute? We were palying some of the best b-ball in the league just a couple of weeks ago...we don't suck...just a few bad games in a row....the game will seem a lot easier once the shots start dropping again.

Here's what we are: 35-36

A .500 team. Capable of getting on a hot streak -- but we're really not that good. Just got hot. And then capable of getting on a cold streak. But we're really not that bad. Just struggling. And all the hot streaks and cold streaks come together and we are...just mediocre.

Adelman a D...just what is the man supposed to do? He can't make their gimme layups for them. He can't stop them from bumbling around, taking bad shots, and missing free throws. He can't force them to grab boards and play team defense. He can't keep them from arguing with the refs too long and getting ejected. He has a limited lineup, and the guys that he thought he could count on aren't coming through here lately. If you had a problem with his rotation, just what should he have done??? Bring in Vitaly more?

If you give Adelman a D for this game, you give everyone else an F, outside of 'Cisco. And this is coming from one of the biggest supporters of the "Fire Adelman" club earlier this season. I want the guy back for an extension now.

This is a PLAYER problem, not a coaching problem. I can guarantee you he's not drawing up a play and going, "OK, Ron, here's what we're going to do- get the ball on the wing, dribble around for 20 seconds or while everyone else stands in one spot, then try to force it up on a fadeaway jumpshot that's defended by three guys and hope you get bailed out by the refs. Got it? OK, break!"

I keep hoping these losses will be a wake-up call, but I think the Kings may have taken the phone off the hook. Someone go bang on their door.

I didn't mind the hard foul. It was Kenny not knowing when to stop arguing & costing us points in a game where every point matters that bothered me.

You don't give someone a B+ when their mouth gets them thrown out of the game.

It's not like Kenny Thomas has a rep as "THE ENFORCER" or anything.

KT has been in the league long enough to know you don't mess with Javie. It's my personal opinion that players who get ejected for verbal offenses should have to sit out the next game. I feel that strongly. Mouthing off to the official NEVER helps the team. Discussing something? Fine. Making it about him or you always ends up with the official winning. ALWAYS.

The last thing we need right now is loose cannons. If Kenny can't keep his mouth shut, he might as well just stay in the locker room.

The hard foul wasn't the issue, I agree. Bonzi was trying to walk Kenny away from Javie, Steve CLEARLY put up a finger - signalling "Hey! WARNING!" - and Kenny just had to get a couple more barbs in. Not a good idea, and thanks a lot for that. (I believe the Wizards scored SIX points in that possession?)

That young ref seemed to want to get in a Technical Foul race with Javie, and Javie won in the end. Jeez...Crawford one night- ejection, Javie the next- ejection. Who woulda thunk??? All the players should know which refs are hotheads and how much guff they'll take. We simply can't afford to lose guys over stupid arguments (that they will never win) when every game is so crucial like this.

I don't get it. I heard for years how the Kings were too soft and too nice and as soon as someone puts the smack-down on a guy he gets grief. Maybe K9 did say too much, but I am glad he did. Just a few minutes before Bonzi gets hit in the face and is lucky he did not break his nose, but there was not flagrant foul. Plus, K9 was clearly going for the ball. I was mad too. I do not fault him for telling Javie off and getting thrown-out.
