How long before you give it up? I honestly can't think of anything you post about on these boards except for Hawes' failures. I don't post here often, as seen by my post count, but I read the threads here often. It seems every post I read by you is essentially the same. It's gotten very old.

But he has more posts than you so he is therefore right.;)

I've found the best way to stop flame fests is to ignore them

There was no small amount of outrage at times when certain players would have really good games and not get the highest grade possible, and the reasoning was always "he's held to a higher standard than other players." And that makes sense. Your best player can go 5-8 from the field, grab six rebounds and have four assists, and get a C-, but if a bench player at the end of the rotation does that, he's going to get a B+.

So tonight if Reke has 21 pts, 5 rbs, 6 assists and 3 TOs he gets a "C" because he had an average game for himself?

Again, I am not being critical towards your point- I am just confused.

I was just pointing out that the statline doesn't determine the grade. Otherwise, like Brick said, you could just pull up the box score and have no use for the grades.

Accordingly, I can't tell you what Reke's grade would be if he had that statline without seeing the game. Could be a C, could be an A, could be an F. If he shoots 8-24, 1-7 from outside, disappears in the 4th quarter and has a negative impact on his teammates, his grade ain't gonna be too hot. But if he coasts in the first half, looking for teammates, then turns it on late in the game and carries the team in the final five minutes, he'd have a better grade. And if he did it on a sprained ankle or after overcoming some other tribulation, it would be even better.

And really, the point was that 21/5/6 for Reke is average, depending on the circumstances. But if Udoka puts that up, assuming he's not just chucking shots up, he's going to automatically earn a high grade for performing better than expected. We anticipate that line from a star like Reke. When a role player does that, it's a rare explosion that everyone takes note of and wonders aloud: "Where the hell did that come from?!?" That ain't happenin' for Reke with 21/5/6.

Cane toads are invasive in AUS, but the native Meat Ants can eat them and nt be affected by poison.
Now THAT is a great name for a sports team! Maybe the new football team...
"Ladies and Gentlemen, here are your Sacramento Meat Ants!"

I would pay cash money for a chance to design that logo.

with JT down... and the team needing him more than ever... Hawes failed

Hawes plays like a sissy... HE IS PURE FAIL

21 years old or not.... Hawes is an embarrassment... unacceptable... who was guarding him tonight?
I am frustrated with Hawes just as anyone, however, is using RED fonts necessary. Is there a day you don't use RED fonts? Its starting to get very annoying. Just as mac stated of ignoring your posts, I will probably do so as well.

Yeah that does kinda get irritating, the use of red. It's almost like he's out for BLOOD. Hawes' blood. Which I don't know why, Hawes is starting to come around. He just needs to keep his energy level up and things start to happen for him. Once he gets complacent and nonchalant, thats when he gets into trouble.

You know what's funny to me about the outrage over Spencer Hawes? If he had two good games, then one bad game, and was up and down like that for the entire season, I think we'd be okay with that at this point in his career. He was good against the Clippers, even better against Utah, and now, he has a bad game (admittedly, a horribly bad game, made worse by the fact that our rebounding was the problem, and our seven footer was at the root of it), and he's worthless again. Some people were just waiting for a poor showing by Spencer, and he didn't fail to disappoint. Still, I'm hopeful that he's learning something from the past couple of weeks, and that he'll show it on the court. Hopeful.

I think it all come down to two trains of thought.
One camp feels Spencer is young and learning and his poor performance is based on inexperience.
The other camp feels Spencer puts out effort only when it suits him and he has shown no heart and a sense of entitlement.
I am in camp two. Omri and other Kings have bad games, but damn they seem to be trying at least. If Spencer has a case of Brad Miller Syndrome, it's bad for team moral and not at all what we are looking for with our young new team.
I'm no expert on the maturation sliding scale of young NBA players but a lack of heart does not seem to fit with this explanation.
I know it bothers me that if camp two is right, every day Spencer spends on this team he is undermining the kind of team spirit we all hope to develop. These next few years are HUGE for the Kings. I don't want to see it undermined by the 'center' of this team. I feel that until he can come to accept his REAL role and what's expected of him AND show the type of heart and determination that warrants his multi-million dollar salary, he should NOT be a starter. No matter how many injuries we have. I guess that falls on the coaches, not Spencer.

I don't fall firmly into either camp. I'm on the fence, for sure. And if he is a "play when I want to play" kind of person, then you're right, that would undermine the efforts of everyone else on the team.

What I can't understand is that, after putting up two pretty good games, he lays bomb, and now "he's useless". I know it's not that simple, but it was sort of surprising to me. I guess it shouldn't be, considering the source.

again i dont hate Hawes ...

I actually want Hawes to succeed probably more than anyone here... Which is why hes killing me with his weak stuff...I would like to be wrong about him...

Hawes is very talented... hes got a great feel for the game...

but it shouldn't take a benching by Westphal to get him to put up basically his best rebounding game of the year 12 boards... after the det game he came out angry and fierce....

why cant he just play like that all the time?

he isn't motivated day in and day out... its sad to watch... his boards have gone down every games since det...

you know whats getting old? its this cycle of Hawes getting benched then coming back with a vengeance... only to fade back to being soggy waffles after 2 or 3 games... its not just stats but you can see his effort on the court fade...

I dont like Noah... his off the court antics are stupid... but his motor on the court is always running and on high... Hawes has the talent and ability to be a stud 5... but his motor isn't running all the time...

im the hardest on Hawes because he is so gifted with size and skill... and his failure to realize this talent is painful to watch...

yeah hes only 21 but his age isn't whats holding him back

I show you Bogut in his first few year in the league. Hawes is exact replica in terms of inconsistency.

Look at Bogut this year! The number of people who would have given up on Bogut in his first 3 years would have been high.

While Hawes will probably never be the sort of rebounder that Bogut is, he has the potential to be just as good a player which is a borderline all-star type C.

Bogut was just as inconsistent as Hawes is. He would playe great for 2 games then just be non-existant for the next few.

I haven't lost all hope in Hawes... although i wont accept his age as an excuse, as far as years left in the league... he is young... so there is time for him to finally "get it".

I can see this connection... but Hawes attitude, motor, and avoiding contact are still the reasons hes struggling to be consistent right now...

I just wanna see him play tougher more consistently more than any stats... although if he plays tougher the stats will obviously improve

I hope he comes around...

check check... hes an underachieving waste of 6 million dollars so far...

he gets clowned by every big in the league and then finally clowned by his coach... hes miller 2.0 and im over it...

he is only 21... and he isnt a retard... hes a wuss... afraid of contact and rebounds.

no one here knows embarrassment better than Hawes

Congratulations on just making my ignore list.

Hey guys, let's predict who the next kings player that one single fan is going to be picked out for hating on will be!

You know first there was Evans by AM, now Hawes .... I vote Donte next!
I respect your opinion about fan anger expressed on this board. This...not so much.

Hmm you're right. My bad. I was just venting my frustration at how it seems that once one player hating stops another one starts. My post was uncalled for.
