Where are the people who wanted malone fired a month ago? And said Corbin can do what he did and gave him no credit.

The grass isn't greener on the other side.

It was a minority but I read plenty of people saying Malone wasn't up to the job, and when Corbin was out injured people suggested maybe he was the catalyst for the good start.

Corbin indeed look great in that game, because he made little tweaks to a great foundation. When Malone was canned, they crushed that foundation into little pieces. It's hard to improve a wreck with little adjustments.

Vivek said that we were ticked off about Malone getting fired cause we were passionate fans. Well Vivek, you ve completely killed the passion of this fan. This current team is a ship dead in the water. It's not exciting. The players don't look like they're having fun anymore. Personally I don't see the direction this team is going anymore. This team now resembles every other kings team of the past 6 + years. Thanks you Vivek. Thanks gerbil.

Ownership is tanking the season. Cousins sat because he would care too much to lose to IT like this. IT has no idea why the Kings fired Malone. Corbin offering solemn cliche answers to what is happening. Just please don't lose to the Knicks .... Please let there exist a more dysfunctional team than the Kings.

I was there. From a "product" standpoint, it was pretty poopooty. Disorganized on offense, halfcourt defense mediocre. The only reason we scored so many points was due to pacing. Honestly, the offense looked more cohesive under Malone. Let that sink in.
The seats were nice though, and I grabbed a sixer of 21st Amendment before the game, so all was not bad. ;)

Gee, I love scoring points!
Was it a lot like this?

They would be wrong. Or maybe not.

And it doesn't matter anyway. Corbin is just the puppet. What they WERE doing may have been Corbin. But they aren't doing what worked anymore, are they? That was winning, and it's not about wins and losses anyway.

I think if the Kings really want to pull through with this high tempo type of offense, they need to trade everyone except for Cousins, Gay, Casspi, and Ben.

These two don't align. You either adapt the style of the team to suit Cousins (e.g. slow tempo grind it in the paint, similar to Memphis), or you find yourself another franchise player who is actually suited for this type of play. Are you among the %5 of fans who want this style? If so, good for you. This is exactly where the team is headed. Now the remaining question is only which way is Cousins headed.

Has any team ever rehired a coach they just fired a month before?

I realize you don't really care, but italian football is different to everywhere else due to the fact that they can only hire two managers a season... so quite often they will sack one, sack another and then have to bring back the first guy.

So basically what im trying to say is that although its happened, its not really happend before.

This is a trainwreck of previously unparalleled proportions. Ty Corbin looked like he'd been hit by the train. I am now actively encouraging everyone to send tweets to @Vivek and @Pdoro - remind them that they said this was our team and that we demand a coach that can right the ship, a guy who can get us back on course - and whatever other nautical references you may want to add.

I won't fault the team tonight because they really tried, but when you're up to your arse in alligators it's hard to remember your original objective was to drain the swamp.

Just one month ago these guys were playing defense, they were playing TEAM ball, they were enjoying themselves and entertaining us. All that is gone and the blame falls on the guy who fired our coach.

They need to make it right and they need to do it NOW.

I have been doing this on twitter already, and I include Karl in there too.

Vivek has said this before:

"When you think about how a pearl is made, it starts with an empty shell," Ranadive said. "And an impurity, or an irritant, a grain of sand, gets into the shell. And then a pearl forms around it. And so to make something of beauty and value, you often need an irritant. My role is to be like the Chief Irritant. So I'm just going around annoying people."

Well, I think it is time to think of ourselves as the irritant now. We did it to help keep the team/get an arena, now it is time to get a new coach. Everyone on twitter needs to tweet or retweet Vivek and Pete about getting Karl in as coach. Put reasons down: losing the players, losing the fans, season ticket holders not renewing, losing games, no reason to fire Malone, Karl's past accomplishments and desire to coach here, etc., etc. I would use whatever appeals to you personally, so it isn't the same canned stuff over and over. I retweet folks like Breton and well. And be respectful.

Obviously the folks at games with signs and chants are awesome, in a very public and positive way. But for those of us who don't attend many games, this is something we can do to help. Let them know how you feel.

Well I can tell you this - Vivek is doing a darn good job annoying and irritating me.

Nope, I do not want the style at all. I think it's stupid because we don't have the players for it, and we play a lot better in the half court.....plus look at our franchise player! He's not Steph Curry...he's DeMarcus Cousins. BUT I think he can fit the type of offense they want. I really doubt that they want a Suns type of offense or GSW type of offense like a lot of people here think.

I think they want to push up the ball quickly to half court and try to get an easy shot or layup off. We see almost every team in the NBA do this. They push the ball up and take the ball to the rim easily or get an easy dunk because half the defenders are asleep and are still trying to get into their D. BUT if there are no easy shots for us, the players have to pull out, THEN run our traditional half court offense.

I think that is the vision behind the uptempo type of offense. Probably a lot more ball movement too, but I think there are way too many players just standing and watching Cousins work in the post. If we had a real starting PF next to Cousins, imagine all the easy dunks we could've had. Cousins is always looking to pass the ball out, but a lot of times no one is open or JT is too out of position.

I don't like the idea, but I think if the FO is pushing it, they should start to find personnel's and players that fit their scheme.

Instead of hoping that we win each game, I just assume we will lose now. Had hoped that we would challenge for an 8th seed in playoffs. Now it's just a matter of how bad we will be.

If you watch the "defense" of this team when the Suns were in a fast break or semi-fast break it's about as poor as you can get. Guys were either not interested in playing D or their innate defensive talent is very low. Maybe a combination of the two. We have a lot of guys on this team who are poor in guarding in space. A few times the Phoenix player would just blow by a player and then that player would do the embarrassed "comb" through his hair with his hand.

I'm very disinterested in this team under NBA 3.0. I'm not even staying up late to watch the games anymore.
I haven't watched a second of any game or highlights since the first game Cousins came back. I saw the way we played, and even Cousins himself cannot make it tolerable for me.

I truly hope the Gerbil and Vivek are saying to themselves "we may have made a big mistake." Cousins was out last night, so Corbin had the same exact roster as Malone did, and seeing as they fired Malone, I expect Corbin to win now, Cousins or no Cousins. Instead, we look like crap in every single aspect of the game. I don't even have to watch the games to know. I have been watching the same stuff for 8+ years now. I know what it looks like and what it feels like. Except one difference. Feels worse than ever now because we were successful this season. Something was working. Now, there is nothing.

The grass isn't greener on the other side.

Malone has become like a dead poet. He was not recognized for his greatness while coaching here. It was hard to see through a 28 win season and blown 20+ point leads this season. However, after his demise his genius was quickly appreciated - for the first time by many. Now all things that go wrong will be attributed to his demise for at least 1 year. In other words, IT has been replaced.

Entertaining at times. Our players are athletic, make great plays and run. But somehow the other team always beats us by double digits. How is it humanly possible for the other team to shoot so well? It's hard to fathom.
Thats something that gets so deep under my skin that we let players shoot at such a high clip often times unchallenged too. Yes we have some athletic guys but the roster is unbalanced and not suited for playing up and down. If we had a shot blocker (Moreland?) or a stretch 4 instead of lets say Landry or Evans then maybe. I personally loved the way we were playing old school hoop getting to the line and crashing the glass hard then abusing teams on offense around the rim.

wow, i see the word gerbil used quite a bit. how come it's being used now? i thought it was degrading..

Because we as fans have been degraded and put upon. Personally id like to see him run out of town.

This post just made me sad. It was exciting to see the kings toss the ball down low and go to the line so often. It was driving teams crazy. DMC was in his element and he was DOMINATING.

we need to lose and lose for a few years so it gets through to the head of the snake. we'll rack up a few more lotto picks which hopefully can replace boogie when he decides to take his talents to south beach.

On a side note, with Bosh, Cousins would be MORE scary. Teams would have to leave the post to chase Bosh, Cuz would see less double teams, not to mention that the paint would stop being clogged. I love the idea of a true stretch 4.

The game was fun ... at times. Just enough to deceive me into being hopeful again. But then, SoSDD. Casspi and Williams got iced because they were doing too well?

The highlight of the night for me was getting into a bit of a Twitter twist with Aaron Bruski and that's not what I want to be doing during a Kings game.

This is a trainwreck of previously unparalleled proportions. Ty Corbin looked like he'd been hit by the train. They need to make it right and they need to do it NOW.

That has become a MAJOR problem on this team. Selfish play has dominated since the coaching change. It has been a major problem with this team for many years. No stability = every man for himself. No help defense because its your problem not mine. That guy is hot and making baskets, he's making me look bad. Don't pass it to that guy, he's making the rest of us look bad. SELFISH !! That above all things must END! It is the WORST kind of basketball. It makes the games unwatchable. When you would rather pass into a double team turnover than hit the open shooter who is hot, that aint basketball.

There is only ONE remedy for this selfish - self centered basketball. A strong coach. We have had our fill of weak coaches that say the right thing in front of the cameras but do NOTHING in reality to improve the situation. Ty Corbin would have been HIRED by the MALOOFS ! He fits the description of a coaching failure that the MALOOFS would have coveted ! I turned the game off after the 3rd quarter. This team doesn't even try to compete if Cousins isn't on the floor. Mental Weakness and Poor Coaching. Laziness ! Cousins makes the game easier for all his teammates. When he isn't on the floor they all just use that as an excuse. Numbers don't LIE ! Cousins ability and talent cover up all the warts this team has. Without him they are not an NBA Caliber team. They are POOP.

Entertaining at times. Our players are athletic, make great plays and run. But somehow the other team always beats us by double digits. How is it humanly possible for the other team to shoot so well? It's hard to fathom.

An Utter disregard for defensive intensity. They dont play any defense and give up too many wide open shots. NBA players make 8 out of 10 wide open shots from distance. That is WHY they are in the NBA. Guarded the best players still make 5 out of 10. The defensive intensity has dissipated. The team philosophy has disintegrated. It's every man for himself as the Titanic slowly sinks into the sea.

Let the BAND PLAY ON !!

I don't think the new owners bought this to see the team play the way it's going lately. Buy the team to keep in Sacramento and to keep it here, to improve it and get the paying fans to buy back in. The buyers knew we would build a new arena a great cost and that it would be ready for the '16-'17 season, so two years to develop a product that would fill the arena in it' inaugural year and ongoing.

They have made strides but not enough. The first year did not show an improvement as desired, a little short. This year started out n a hole but with pieces in place to help right the ship and get us back on course. This happened for 10 or 15 games, then our star went down and the play after that toke a severe downward trend and showed us two things: 1) how much we depended on the star, and 2) how much we over-depended n the star. We needed not only to get the star back but how to play a more balanced game with him a without him. We have been tinkering with fixes but we haven't made much headway, in fact we have taken steps backward even with star in tha lineup. This has been helped along by the pact of attempts to change the system and tha need for the star to come back and have a few weeks to get back in shape and for the group to play a new way for a while and make it work.

One can imagine that the owners, in making these changes, new it was risky and would take time. A new coach was committed to by firing the old. This interim period with a temporary coach was necessary to let things sift so that some of the worst effect of all this could be got out of the way before the new coach took the reigns. So here we sit, the fans, the players, the coaches, the owners, experiencing terrible competitive basketball.

I can't imagine the situation in acceptable to any of us let alone the decision making owner ship. Something will happen to change this grief, and longer the grief goes on the more severe the need is and the more severe ownership actions wii be.

I don't think fan twitters are needed but they certainly wo't hurt.

Why is this interim period with Corbin necessary? Are you suggesting firing Malone was necessary? The uproar is because it was and is completely unnecessary. There was no need to blow up a good thing aside from Vivek/Mullin/PDA preferring a different style, a style btw which has seen us become less competitive and be the worst defensive team in the league.

And I think this is acceptable to ownership, which is also why there's an uproar. Our own GM said wins/losses don't matter. Our own GM said Malone would have been fired even if he we had started 16-9. They made the decision to blow up success without a backup plan. This is intentional. It's also incompetent.

#Carl Landry really picked up the slack for Ramon Sessions not playing the amount of ridiculous forced shots and stupid passes was something legends are made off
#No surprise the only player on the entire roster that benefits playing full court bball Derrick went off.
#Casspi aka Mr fix it was terrific did everything easily our best player
#Rudy made some tough shots but his defense at times and the fact he never decided to even challenge himself and try guard one of the Morris twins was embarrassing
#Collison, needs to shoot the ball more he's imo our 2nd best shooter after Ben stop pump faking for the love of god...had some awful turnovers
#Reggie did a few nice things but his defense allowed for Alex Len to look like Tyson Chandler
#Ben was just ok...the fast game aside from the odd alley hoop does not suit Ben, the less controlled basketball you play the worse Ben plays, it's the reason why he struggled in summer league and it's the reason everytime he has a bad stretch it cause we/he are going to quick
#Ray......unless he turns into a elite shooter he can't penetrate well enough for a NBA PG, he also lacks play making ability, he has to be a 3 and D guy or else he's a 3rd PG at best.
#JT..........I have nothing

This is just poopoo, this is basically the Kings we know and have grown to accept, the sad thing is the next 4 games are against scrub teams and we could easily be with a healthy Cousins 1 game below 500. and I doubt we will even do that.

Was going to respond to this with an analysis on why I think Carl Landry is getting the short end of the stick...

But you know what? I just don't care anymore. It's one thing when the team sucks. It's another thing when they don't suck and the ownership is forcing them to suck.

This sucks.
