that 3 by rudy with under a min in regulation was a pointless attempt. should have gotten an better shot and would have been up 5. Instead Rudy misses and harden hits the 40 footer.

Is that an example of Rudy's and the coaches failing? And a 40 footer? Poor defense!!! What was Houston's record again? Is this really grounds for firing Gay, the coach and the whole team. I think the Kings did a pretty good job of hanging with a top team.

Robin can't even really be Robin without Batman.

I'm hoping that PDA is at the least looking for Krypto the Superdog.

To get Krypton PDA has to use trade material and even that isn't easy let alone agreed upon by his staff, the coaching staff, the press, the fans and particularly KFans.com. This site has offered DWill, JT, Landry, Ben, and others. You don't dare trade JT unless you get back a just as big guy of equal or better talent. Toughie. Ben would be a serious consideration to trade now. Toughie. DWill is a candidate but does he have value or takers. Same with Landry. Our biggest value chips to use are Ben and JT.

So far this season the team has jacked up the value of JT, Ben and to a lesser degree, DWill and Landry .

Tough job to find willing partners with quality offerings. It will happen and maybe for the best bit never to anyone's complete satisfaction.

The first half was very unusual in that the Rockets had so much trouble scoring. In the second half the 3s started to rain down. Usually I fault the 4th quarter defense and rebounding. The intensity was better than it has been. The Kings have started to turn back into a team that stands around on offense, especially late in games and when a game is close. Without Cousins, with Gay double teamed and trapped, the Kings don't know what to do a lot of the time. Collison remains a bright spot. Several guys are playing with renewed intensity. I get the idea that playing harder defense, rebounding harder, and getting back to beat the fast break is taking a lot out of the team. Now they are resting on offense, especially in the 4th quarter. It seems like they are more worn out than the opposition. Several teams have coasted against the Kings and them poured it on when it matters to squeak out wins. That is what good teams do. They pace themselves and play really good 4th quarters.

Once again, you look at the grades (thank you consortium!) and you know the reason we lost. We have players who did very well who were shut out at the end in favor of the guy who was basically driving fans out of STA. (And don't get me wrong - I like Rudy.) It was foolish of Malone not to trust the guards who had been putting forth effort all night. (And don't get me wrong - I like Malone.) I can only hope that when they watch the game tapes they focus on what killed us last night - NOT (SUCCESSFULLY) PASSING THE FREAKING BALL.

I can live with the loss because Demarcus Cousins, but I'm not very happy about it.

If those are the chips you're going to bet, the potential payoff better be huge because I personally think trading those two right now could be disastrous.

I can’t say this enough….Pass the ball! Enough with ISO plays. I am so tired of seeing a 1-4 flat. We need ball and player movement. We constantly waste possessions, over and over again have I watched this team give up leads just by going solo. Stop getting away from what works and stay with it.

I’ve seen both Darren & Rudy force one-on-one/tough shots, instead of creating a play where all of our guys are moving and try to make a good play for the last possession, we go one-on-one.

There’s a few problems….1. Our coach doesn’t know how to create a offense, I said this last year and I still believe it. Going back to the Laker game, besides some questionable player rotation, the last possession was set up for failure. I’m not like most of you who hated that Nik took the shot, I hated how we gave it to him. There were no player movement (pass from DC to Nik to DC to Nik for the force), there were no screens to get him open, nothing.

Last nights game, Rudy comes down and forces a 3, then coach calls another “play” and has rudy drive and play one-on-one again. It was a good look and he could have made it, but I don’t understand why we always go away from Team ball instead of hero guy.

Fans always want a Big 3, I’m sorry I want a Team. I want a roster (both starters and bench) that can come in and make winning Team plays. Sure there are times that we should go to our primary guys (Demarcus, Rudy…) but overall I like to watch a team rather than individual, and maybe I think that way because I’ve seen this “hero” one-on-one nonsense for way too long.

2nd problem…We lack easy transition points, we have Ben running down the court and we don’t pass him the easy slam. I’ve seen this so many times.

3rd….We lack a bench. Carl is a good guy but - to me - he doesn’t fit. D. Williams also needs to go (probably why we’re constantly playing him in front of National TV). We need a backup PF and shot blocking center. Nik needs to keep improving and be confident with his shot and Sessions need to get himself together and start playing ball - what happened to him this year? Ray also seems like a option.

4. I don’t know about anybody else but I’ve noticed that we sometimes go away from the hot hand. Last year it was with Demarcus and this year I’ve seen it with Ben…I don’t know why, but it’s like we forget that the guy is making everything that he’s shooting. And I’m not saying to abandon other guys but it’s like we don’t even pass to him. Maybe it’s me…

I can’t wait to see Nik develop and really start hitting his shots. Just imagining Nik and Ben on the team together makes me smile. I hope we keep them both.

This. Yes ! That is a very strange thing to me. And I have noticed it too on a number of occasions. They do NOT ride the hot hand. They go away from passing the ball and become selfish. There is a sort of selfishness in their game. Not everyone can be a 20 point scorer every night. But Ben can if he is hot and you get him the ball and set a few screens. I literally saw Sessions come down the court last night look at an open Ben and he turned his head and passed it to a doubled Rudy. More than likely with the idea that he might get it back. There needs to be less selfish play and more ball movement. I think a lot of that would be fixed by picking up a better backup PG. Leads are not safe once Sessions enters the game. He is not adept at making other players around him better or setting up his teammates for good shots. He looks to score first and pass second. Isn't that why we got rid of I.T. ???

another one that could of been...those turnovers are just too much to bear. Even though I hate isolation basketball...Rudy has made that shot plenty of times and he got enough space to make it, just didn't drop. Houston lived by the three last night and survived...Gay guarding Harden on a few possessions down the stretch had me shivering. The bench is painfully terrible and it's difficult for DC and Gay to sit for any longer than two or three minutes without the walls collapsing in, maybe you can get away with it against Utah or even Detroit...

The Bench is weak for sure. But they would be better if there was a good distributor at PG to set them up for better shots. Sessions really isn't a very good PG. He isn't a very good player these days. He has played less than atrocious the last coupla games but he has shown nothing to make you believe he is the answer at backup PG.

The front office and PDA have some work to do. I personally believe another big who can defend and rebound is the most pressing issue because JT and Cuz are our only bigs that are quality players. JT isn't even starter quality but he defends well enough and only has one boneheaded move per quarter. If they don't get another big to rotate in with JT and Cuz they will both be worn out before the allstar break. But backup PG is a major problem that is effecting our entire 2nd unit and the team as a whole.

So somehow PDA and the front office are going to have to find a way to address both these issues if we are going to remain competitive this season. And with Cuz out for an indefinite amount of time, a solid rebounding big who can defend would really help the Kings in the short and long term. A player like Greg Monroe from Detroit who is likely to be moved before the trade deadline would be a nice fit.
