I'm actually starting to get a little disappointed in our fans. When I first moved here 4 years ago, what I LOVED about Kings fans were that it was more like a college-type atmosphere than any NBA arena I've been too. Fans were loud throughout the game. They were loud during the intros, loud when the Kings were down, loud when they were up. The decible meters were all the way to the top on the scoreboard quite often. To every game I've been to this year, it's ghostly quiet for 3/4 of the game. Then in the 4th, the fans get into it. I don't know if it's too much success, the expectations are too high, or if no one cares about the regular season anymore. But going to the games is NOWHERE like it was a few years ago.
Oh, there is definitely a major spoilage factor with Sacto fans anymore. I really don't want to hear any of that "best fans in the NBA" nonsense right now, because it just ain't so. Hate to think what will happen if this team ever actually sinks back down into mediocrity. Suffice it to say that the sellout streak will be a thing of the distant past if current fan attitudes don't change.

And the Webb thing is just ignorance. And ignorance stoked by the media too. Not a pretty thing, and nothing to be remotely proud of. They've been there every game this season really -- first time Webb misses three shots in a row you can hear them in the background waiting to pounce. Fortunately its still a minority. But this is hardly the "6th man" fandom that was there before. Those fans would lift UP the Kings whenever the going got tough. The way it stands right now, the team has to lift the fans up to get them involved, not the other way around. Pretty standard for an NBA fanbase. But certainly nothing special.

I think Fridays incident might have a bit of a reason why. Maybe I just have noticed it more but they have generally been quiet alot more.

The main reason is though we are spoiled rotten!! Our expectations are a bit raised. Completely understandable.... To me anyways. On a night like last night I would be going crazy we won 8 years ago... Now its a game we shouldve won.

Good grades Brick!

I wont add on about Webb.... Enough has been said... I wont poor on.

Pretty sad when your starting PG outboards your Starting SF 9-2.

Another win and a great homestand 5-0... ouldnt of asked for a better homestand.

Now onto that team down south..........

well it hasn't as bad (and probably never will) as the problem with Vince Carter and the Toranto fans. They booed him every possesion and he made remarks to the media saying he doesn't even want to dunk anymore.
I felt sorry for Vince, and I feel sorry for Webb. Both of them are good guys. At least Carter gets boo'd every time he touches the ball. With Webber it's different; it's either "you play well, or you get boo'd"...and when he does play well, they all love him again. It's a shame. I thought Sacto fans had a lot more class than this, but seems like this is the year where a lot of things change.

I guess that's the problem. I agree that Webb was poor tonight, and I love the guy. I was just telling my husband tonight that I think the team is well balanced right now in that players can have "off" nights, but the team can pull it off. B-Jax (who I also love) finally had a great game, but the team has been winning without him. Pedja was subpar in many games, Bibby hasn't always played great, etc... but, we are doing okay after a rough beginning. My problem is that when Webb has an off night people start booing. I haven't seen this happen to any other player, and I don't think it's right. I have off days, my husband has off days, co-workers have off days, and as partners or teammates we pick up the slack and move on. Why boo Webber on an off day when he has been incredible on some days when no one else stepped up to the plate??? Basketball isn't about how ONE player plays, it's about a team. Otherwise it would be, like, bowling or something!?

Anyway, enough from me. I just don't like the booing. I think it's counterproductive, and that it detracts from supporting our team AS A TEAM, rather than as a group of individuals.
Perfect! Bravo!

Good grades overall, I was glad to see Tag contribute the way he did, that was fun! And how about Bibby actually being very close to a triple double with that 10 points?

Surely that was the most entertaining, competitive and productive game of the week in the league, and Kings best yet this year. They played a good game against the Rockets last time as well, of course last nights result was much more desirable :)

Peja ( B+ ) Brickie was right.
Webber ( C ) Bad night for Webber, but I think his performance warrants a C simply because he is a factor on the court even when he is off.
Miller ( B- ) OK.
Christie ( B ) Christie probably has a greater influence on Kings games than he is given credit. McGrady hurt the Kings, but did not dominate the game like he is capable of doing. Christie was the difference.
Bibby ( B ) I think you have to give Bibby a solid B becasue of his leadership and statistics. Assists and rebounds were critical in this win.
BJax ( A ) Bobby and Songaila saved the game.
Songaila ( A ) I think an outstanding bench performance should be recognized. If Chris had done what Songaila had done, we would be giving him a C+.
Ostertag ( B+ ) The man deserves some recognition and respect. He will get even better as the season progresses. Singing to himslef in front of his locker indeed. I suspect there was very little singing in Utah.
Barnes ( B ) OK.
Adelman ( B+ ) Brickie was right again. Adelman left the bench mob in the game longer than normal. It was the game. This was a tough win because Houston played well, yet the Kings won. The Kings won largely because of rebounding, a perennial problem for the squad. The team apparently responded to the coaches admonitions regarding rebounding. I'm not sure they needed coaching to recognise that weakness in their game. Everytime Peja snagged a difficult rebound I was pleasantly surprised.

That was a good game.

I disagree; Webber dribbled the ball entirely too much tonight, and took a lot of bad shots with teammates wide open. There are probably some here who consider me a Webber booster (although I consider myself more of a devil's Advocate), but he earned a D; if he hadn't gone 5/6 from the line and had a clutch rebound late, I would have lobbied for an F; the grades are based on expectations, after all...

I agree ...... he was driving me crazy with all the dribbling and not knowing what to do with the ball. Webber was only physically present on the court last night, but really didn't have much contribution. Luckily, didn't depend on him to pull out a "W"....

yeah, i used to go to 2-3 games a year when i lived in santa clara ... and now that i watch the kings from afar, at least on tv it doesn't seem like the same atmosphere that i'm used to seeing.

Yeah, definitely a LOT of credit to the bench. Bobby and Darius did an excellent job when it counted the most. Hope the bench can keep it up! :)
