It does but that is when we need Pedja to be in position to box out and rebound like a SF should. Games like this is best example of badly we need Pedja, or any player for that matter, hitting those boards .

Well, he did pick up 5 fouls for the second game in a row which should show he is hustling and involved. I could be wrong but didn't he get a couple of those on defensive rebound attempts? Forgive me if I'm wrong, I'm home with bronchitis (mmm, prescription cough syrup )so I don't have the best long term memory at the moment. LOL.

Plus, we get a crappy picture on the analog CSN channel during the games for some reason. Commercials are clear, closeups and free throws are clear but the action shots are extremely and annoyingly blurry. Does anyone else have that problem?

That is why we have terrible defence at times. I alot of it has to do with the fact our players on our have to cover up our weeknesses that some of players have. I put alot of stress on ourdefense. If we can limit our weaknesses such as rebounding and positional defence on the perimeter than the better chance we have to win the game if our offense is not producing.

our rebounding as a team over recent history except for that one season a few years ago has been horrible. It's not just Peja but I see your point on this for sure don't get me wrong. In fact I may be changing my opinion on this but not just yet LOL... I still don't think Peja is a rebounder or ever will be. He is here to shoot and tonight he should of shot more. Especially with Mike struggling.

I would agree with that but I think we have a lot of players that have some sort of weakness that someone else has to cover up for... Ala Bibby and Defense.

My point being I think his weakness is not being aggressive on the offensive end to get to the line more. He makes almost every shot from the line. Of course I then see the flip side if he was aggressive like that he would prolly get more boards since he would be in better position.

Put K9s inside game into Peja and we would have a monster on our hands.

Id personally be ripping Mr. B. a new one EVERY damn game because of his pee poor D., as well.

As pathetic as Mr Stoja's boarding is for a 6'10" player, I tink that Bibby's D is the single worst feature on the team, and quite possible the single biggest potentially reversable feature that the kings could address to turn this barge around.

Bibby looks exhausted. Sit his arse down for 1 full week, or even more, whatever it takes for him to catch his breath.

But even when he isn't exhausted, he is just a lazy %%$& at the D end. I am really REALLY tired of EVERY pg in the league looking like a stud against the Kings. I'm really getting irritated, I'm not only questioning the conventional wisdom that Bibby is an "elite" pg, I'm even questioning whether its a slam-dunk to call him "above average" when you look at his whole game. Yes he can be clutch, and yes he can get in a zone where he is dropping shots seemingly at will, BUT HIS OPONENT ALWAYS DOES THE SAME. Who cares if he drops 25 points and 6 assists if the scrub he is facing also consistently drops 28 and 11?!??!???

When you're forced to question the King's heart THIS is the biggest open sore thats bugging me lately. Peja's anemic board work irritates me, especially considering his size. But IS MIKE BIBY THE SINGLE WORST DEFENSIVE PLAYER IN THE ENTIRE LEAGUE? (or does he just play that way?)

He's bad, but he's not consistently THAT bad, and he plays a position where there are very few players who actually can shut their opponent down for any extended stretch. Its a problem for us, but even the elite teams out West right now -- San Antonio, Phoenix, Seattle, all have fairly weak defenders at PG. Finding a good defensive PG anymore is a bonus, not an expectation, and I think most teams deem the ability to run a team as the more important trait out of that position.

In any case, seems like a curious time for that particular rant given that Miller and Boykins were not dominant last night, and not our primary issues on defense (where every player over 6'6" tall that the Nuggets had was pummeling us inside). We got slaughtered inside more than out last night.

My problem with Bibby is the turnovers. Lately he has been making lazy passesat the top of the key with a defender right between him and the reciever. RA needs to rest him more. Also give Peja credit for his three steals, although I only remember one. And to be fair to the team that altitude is a killer if your not used to it. I got dizzy walking across a room in a high altitude city as a teenager. I suspect that might of been why Kenyon had to leave the game. But over all I feel it was the turnovers( not just by Bibby) that killed us in this game because they really capitilised off them.

All this ripping on Bibby's D is poorly thought out (I refuse to even respond in the thred dedicated to ripping on Bibby for his D) The one thing NO ONE has discussed is WHO Bibby gets as assingments. Gaurds being a dime a donzen in the NBA have a MUCH higher competitive bar than big man slots. Stiffs of the sort of Bradely sort just don't exist. So While forwards willl frequently get assingments fo slow guys, or guys that can not hit out side ect, gaurds in general are faceing quick players most of who can hit from all over. This is where Bricks observation that most PG's are not good defenders comes in, it is not as much about their LACK of skill, but the skill level of their oponents. This is one of the things that made DC such an asset, a very quick gaurd who COULD stay in front of the opisition and force bad shots, turn overs and broken plays. IF I was to criticize Bibby it would have to include things he has little or no controll over. He is NOT as quick as many other PG's... not sure WHAT he can do about that. He is not a great jumper (although he does have some moments) so more athletic guys will take him down low, agian not sure what he can do about that either.

THe players hes guarding can't consistently perform above their averages against EVERY player, thats why they are averages. Bibby has some serious strengths, and he damn near carried the team for a couple of weeks there (unfortunately really seems worn out from that effort right now, however)


But he CAN do better on defense. He really can. There is damn far cry between his being a mediocre (average) defender, and his plain sucking. I know that it isn't strictly entirely his fault this year. Too much has been laid on his shoulders, he really doesn't have an acceptable back-up. D is all about effort, and his energy is being called on in alot of areas. But dammit, strive to be average, at least.

Bibby ( D ) -- Just never got anything at all going. Was struggling with the shot from the outset, and wasn't consistently containing his man on defense either. Right about now that long string of superstar-like performances in February seems like it was seasons ago. Shot is just so far off, and there isn't much life in his performances. No spark, no real hint that he's going to get it going.

Thats for sure, bibby did not play well, but i think he's tired. he will get back up there, trust me. sooner or later there will be one of those great games he has and everyone will be talking about how well he did.

In fairness to Mike, he is #1 in the league for most minutes played this season. He hasn't missed a game yet, others played more MPG but Mike has been there for EVERY game. It seems to me that Adleman is trying to give him more rest as he grows more comfortable with House but I wonder if that's enough.

Good news, Houston lost, Kings are back in 5th by 1/2 game. I just hope the Kings can do well enough to clinch a playoff spot soon so that the Kings can stop riding Mike's back for a week or two. Not likely though, but that's just my opinion.

I was really disappointed with the effort tonight. For the most part it didn't look like anyone cared out there. Discouraging considering how tight of a playoff race we're in.

It really bothers me that it seems like the fans on this board seem to care more than the players themselves. Is it really too much to ask to give it your best, especially when you're making millions to do so? However, I know that is very idealistic of me, basically all teams have these kind of flat games mixed in throughout the season, just the way it is for some reason. The effort that was there for the Dallas game will be there tom night agst Philly, but I could just tell going into last night the team was going to take the night off. It was pretty much a waste of time even watching it.

Since you're questioning whether Bibby is even "above average" as a whole due to his bad D, what do you think of Steve Nash? His defense is probably even worse than Bibby's, yet he's being touted as in the top 3 for the league MVP. Ever watch Larry Bird play? He's one of the best ever, yet he consistently played matador D where he waved at the guy driving by him every time. Yet no one ever questioned whether Bird was "above average". Bibby has been the backbone of this team and is one of the top 5 most clutch players in the league. His value to the team far outweighs the negatives on defense. Bringing up such a question in the first place is a sign of ignorance.
