indeed. the lakers have been going hard at this tanking thing for awhile now, and it's a bit worrisome to me that they could very well end up in the top 3 of the draft while the kings could just as easily slide out of the top 7. i think the kings certainly have something to build on, but i also think that this year's draft pick needs to be a worthy piece of the puzzle, either as a contributing player or in the yield of an eventual draft day trade. all we can do is cross our fingers that yet another "worst case scenario" doesn't present itself...

hey, at least we can say BEAT LA (tanking version). it'll hurt when they end up in the top 3 tho. pretty sure it will be rigged so they accelerate their rebuild.

Kings-Clippers is a far better rivalry right now and maybe going forward for a while. You can't discount that there is now a full on ESPN article saying in no uncertain terms, and in quite eloquent detail, just how much and why Cousins hates Chris Paul. How he's the opposite of Cousins principles as a person. Its gets personal. That's the essence of a good rivalry. Good thing is the slogan transfers well. BEAT LA.

But I agree... to me now, losing to the Clippers is worse than losing to the Lakers.

Bah. I grok why some people might feel that way, but I am psychologically incapable of feeling that way: my hatred of the gd lakers precedes Rick Fox, it precedes Kobe Bryant, it precedes the WCF.

I hate the gd lakers because of the name on the front, not the name on the back. It never has, and never will matter which jackass is wearing the jersey to me. Is Chris Paul a punk? Sure. Is Blake Griffin a punk? Okay. Does DeMarcus Cousins hate the Clippers more than he hates the lakers? Good for him; I am not DeMarcus Cousins.

That makes total sense to me. I hated them mostly for the names on the back, and for the whole early 2000's stuff. I actually was a Laker fan as a kid in the 80's before the Kings got here. I've gotten over my hate of Shaq. I actually really like him now. Not the same for Kobe. But believe me, I still hate the whole franchise and will be gleeful when we get our revenge for what happened. I've been a big proponent of that.

But it's just more fun to me watching the Kings-Clips right now. It's more fun hating the Clips.

Was anyone else at the game and managed to catch the video on the jumbotron when they we're doing one of the "Beat LA" chants? I didn't have a good view but it looked like Shaq was on the video. Never in my life did I think I'd see Shaq leading a "Beat LA" chant on behalf of the Kings against the Lakers.

I'm not sure to what degree the jersey retirement last year got rid of the bad blood there or not.
