Are you kidding?
Without THE SYSTEM in San Antonio, Leonard isn't half the player he looks like.
Leonard doesn't create many of his shots - the system does, and the attention the rest of the team HAS to be paid by the opposing team.

It's why Demarcus, for comparison, is BETTER than his stats show - because there is no system in place whatsoever in Sacramento to benefit him and exploit his abilities. DMC doesn't get open shots because the opposing team is focusing on someone else. DMC doesn't get easy put-backs because his guard penetrated and the other team had to leave him. DMC doesn't get easy dunks when the other team overplays the 2-man game, leaving Demarcus.
etc etc etc.

He's either better than his stats or worse than his stats. For me, the jury is out on that question. One thing I know for sure, our group of players has not learned to play well together, not enough of them to win 40% of our games. And that inability is shared with all in proportions to their talent including our two most talented players. What we need is wins.

I don't really get how Leonard will be exposed once the "legends" (all three who are basically role players since he came) retire it's not like he's no longer going to be a elite defender (imo the best perimeter defender in the NBA) as well as a solid 2nd/3rd option. I don't think anyone see's him as a #1 option and nor should they plus he's already proved himself on the biggest stage of them all. There's nothing to "expose".

Actually a great many people try to accuse him of being a #1 option in hiding, a superstar in the wings. People try to rank him in the Top 15 players in the league.

I largely think that's bunk, just weak minded winner love. But every once in a two weeks he'll have a game where it looks like its true. He did last time against us actually. I'm legitimately curious to see what happens. My prediction would be he gets exposed as a modern day Rodney McCray, a great support guy who's efficiency will dwindle the more he's relied upon. If they start losing, he'll even start catching some heat, basically just for not being the guy the idiots hoped he would be. If they can maintain mediocrity, then he'll be the saavy glue guy waiting for a new star to wingman for. But as I say, there are nights when he looks like he might actually be the Paul George level guy people try to accuse him of being. I have real doubts, but I would like to see the question answered.

Only person I have heard that from is Sean Elliot
