Very interesting. I wonder why coaches tell their players to take 250-500 shots a day in practice if it's sooo taxing. Those players must be Spartans!!! :p

Ah, you got me. All I can say is that perhaps the energy expended shooting under game conditions is different than in practice.

Says we are now 17-20 since the trade does anyone know what that is with a healthy big 3?

Well, it's an entirely different proposition between telling a guy to take 250 shots a day, and taking 100 shots in thirty minutes...

The kings pushing this 20/20/20 thing is kinda pathetic. It doesn't mean anything.
If the team had a winning record it would be one thing (overlooking that their record is much better since the trade, minus games with one or more out with injuries) but with the teams record it's almost a blemish.

Unless they give out free hamburgers to all those fans who think it is pathetic.

It gives me shivers after the 20-5-5 escapade. It's like waving a sign that says "we know we suck but look at this." I wonder if the guys know about it but they must, shouldn't they? I wonder if Malone distributes minutes based on this goal. That would be pathetic.

That's exactly what it's like.

Rudy played 37 games for Kings. Excluding Houston game, Kings record is 15-21 in those games. Among those 36 Cousins missed 5, so with both on the floor for the whole game it's 15-16 (H/A games - 14-17). Looks like a typical .500 team.

it's funny what talent does for a team, isn't it? bring a much-maligned former star like rudy gay to sacramento, watch him thrive alongside demarcus cousins, and all of a sudden, the kings look fairly respectable despite an imbalanced roster with almost zero defensively-oriented personnel. i will argue until the cows come home that isaiah thomas needs to be utilized in a sixth man's role on a team that features cousins and gay, but that doesn't change the fact that these three players are very talented, and talent matters more than everything else in the contemporary nba. bring in some willing defenders, properly balance the rotation, and this team should be playing .500 ball or better across an entire 82-game season...

Pretty common for losing teams to do. Did it with the Reke 20-5-5. Did it with the stupid IT ROY push.
Yeah cause 20-5-5 was such a lame thing to brag about. I mean it had already been done by MJ, Wilt and Oscar pssh copycat. Someone else should have won ROY.

We also won like 25 games that year. It's a cool feat, but you never see SA pushing individual player statistics.

I'm not sure what this has to do with your point, but if you think Evans is the reason we won 25 games that year, you are sorely mistaken. We won 25 games that season because our team was straight trash. Other than having Martin for half a season, Thompson and Udrih were probably our best players after Evans. That's god awful. Evans was the lone bright spot who played very well.

Yes, but SA hasn't won only 25 games a year lately. You don't have to hype individual stats to get people to come watch your games when you're contending for the championship every year.

Look, Im not dissing the feat. It's very cool. But the mere fact we have to hype individual stats as an organization is something I want to change. I want to be talking about fighting for a playoff position. Not how rare 20-20-20 is

Baby steps my friend. First you need to find the type of players that can lead you to the playoffs. That's why we get excited for players who put up 20-5-5 in his rookie season because we know that is the type of player you can possibly build a great team around.

They also don't have any crazy 20-5-5 like individual stats to brag about. You gotta believe if one of their rooks did that they'd be promoting the hell out of it.
That's the absolute truth. Steph Curry should have won.
He had a great season but I think more people would say Tyreke made more of an impact. Tyreke had some game winners and was really the heart and soul of that 09/10 Kings team.
