How is jimmer going to be on point when he plays like 5 min (if that) every few games? His shot was short but was not bricking or aired one time. That has to do with comfort of playing time. If he hits 3 of them he looks good but everyone else is ok if they go 2 of 10 like Ben or 8 of 25 like Isaiah. With more pt I think he shoots the best on this team. No one is going to do good with 5 min playing time if you are a shooter. He is out there thinking if he makes 1 mistake he won't play for 5 games. Look he needs to keep an eye on his man he's if defending and quit watching the play because his man who is usually the fastest guy out there is cutting and scoring. But his crossover looked good because he got wide open on all his shots but they all fell short. That would be corrected if he had consistent playing time.

Honestly, I want Jimmer to succeed but I don't know how many times I can count on him passing up open jumpers just to dribble around and attempt to get to the hoop. Yes, his minutes are sporadic...but if you're known for being a shooter, shoot when you're open. Stop dribbling when that is the weakest part of your game.

There are obviously people on one side, who feel that we could have survived Gay's poor play, had Thomas not jacked so many shots, and people on the other side, who feel that we could have survived Thomas jacking up shots, had Gay not played so poorly. It seems to depend on your perspective, and perhaps also on which you think is likelier to happen again.

Can there be three sides? I think we could have survived both if our guards could defense a chair. Not even a rolling chair, one of those stationary ones that can't even spin.

Remember our starting guards at the beginning? Vasquez is gone and Thornton doesn't get in games anymore, Ray still doesn't play, Jimmer has worked his way up to last off the bench,, and our all-everything bench/starter is not causing us to win. Something is gonna give.

Maybe it's nothing, but does the GM usually go on the road trips? There was a camera shot that showed the GM, Mullin and possibly others from Kings management sitting in the front row under the basket. It was there for just a second and I wasn't sure so I double checked and recognized the GM and Mullin. I'm not sure about anyone else that was in the shot. Thought it was odd.

Poor play? What play? Gay's play wasn't even a reality. It's a hypothetical.

Huh. Yeah that is odd. I do remember Petrie doing that once, and I think part of it was he wanted to get a feel fro where the team was or some such, and then peeled off to go do some scouting. but no, not normally done.

Speaking of which, why is Landry toting about with the team? Normally injured guys stay home to rehab.

People need to chill about the individual games. They look great against Houston; Gay plays. They look mediocre against the Bobs; he doesn't. They look great against the Mavs; the following game they get their clock cleaned by Utah when Favors comes back. They look great playing Phoenix twice; they get their clock cleaned when Bledsoe comes back. They look great against Houston with Gay, Cousins and IT playing together and with Harden going down with an injury. It's up, down, and all around, and is bound to continue to be as such for many more games into the future until this newly constituted young team becomes familiar with each other and the offensive and defensive schemes. It's pretty obvious this team needs the "third wheel" Gay to be fairly effective on a nightly basis. And it's obvious it's going to take time to integrate him and the other new guys into the team. Chill.

He's the second wheel, or at least should be, if our PG would stop throwing the ball towards the rim at every opportunity.

I think time on the court will help all of his game. Even a great players needs pt. jimmer got himself open on all 6 but just shooting short on his first game over 5 minutes in a very in a long time. He is not comfortable out there yes, but only playing time would help. They know he is gone next year so he is last on the bench and won't get a chance here. The new coach is all about defense and that is jimmers weakest part.

Wait a minute. Gay is a no-show, and IT hurt us more? That makes no sense.
I'm not blaming Gay for being injured, but his absence was obviously more important to this game that IT's presence.

Well I guess this is how I see it.
We should have won that game particularly because our best player obliterated their best player. (Jefferson who normally gives Cousins fits)
With 6 minutes to go in the 4th quarter both Cousins and IT are in the game and the Kings are down 8 points.
8 points is a lot, but with 6 minutes to work with, it should be possible to still win this game.
Cousins gets zero field-goal attempts in those last 6 minutes.
IT takes 5 field-goal attempts and makes 1 of them.
We lose by 8 points having made no ground against the bobhornets.

When the other team can't stop your best player and your best player is shooting 70% from the field, I would really like to see that player have more opportunities to get the ball into the basket. It didn't happen tonight, and that is what was frustrating.

I asked a friend somewhat close to the situation and he said it wasn't, in fact, that unusual.

Hogwash. At some point, even the most rabid of Jimmerfans has to realize that it's not gonna matter how many chances he gets unless he manages to find a way to have a breakout game.

Consider this: D. Williams came from Minnesota having played very little this season at all. He came to the Kings with a chip on his shoulder, ready to prove to the Kings and to everyone else that HE CAN PLAY. He's done a pretty good job, IMHO.

Jimmer doesn't have the right attitude right now. Everybody agrees he's a great guy, he's a pillar in the community, he probably rescues kittens from trees (;)) and all the other things good guys do. BUT HE DOES NOT HAVE A HUNGRY LOOK. He needs to show how much he wants to be here...or anywhere in the NBA. He needs to work harder than anyone else out there right now to prove his worth.

Don't get me wrong. I like Jimmer. I even own his jersey. But the hand-wringing and crying of all the Jimmer apologists HAS TO STOP. Jimmer's future is literally in his own hands. Michael Malone is an incredibly fair coach. He's given Jimmer chances. He cannot, however, just throw him out there every single night if he (Jimmer) isn't going to make the most of the playing time he gets.

Jimmer's weakest part right now is in his head.

I don't disagree that he has lost confidence but disagree with him being hungry. I think he is so hungry that he fails in the short time because of the small minutes and has to be very good just to stay on the court or play in the second half. It's hard to break out if yo u play 5 minutes a game. If goes 1 of 2 he does not see the court again, look at 2 games before this one. Not much of a chance to have a breakout game.

Rookie Season:

Peja Stojakovic - 37% FG, 32% 3PT, 85%

Kyle Korver - 35% FG, 39% 3PT, 79%

Ben McLemore - 34% FG, 33% 3PT, 80%

All true shooter stats. So, his 3 point percentage is better than Peja's in his rookie year, and his free throw percentage is better than Kyle Korver's in his rookie year. They all struggled in these stats except for Korver from three. Peja/Korver's free throw percentages were more indicative of what kind of shooters they'd become. Don't worry, he is just a rookie with no real distributor to allow him to do what he does best - catch and shoot.

See the difference between Korver then and now? :D
