Missed most of it, anyone catch it? Sounded like an "introduce the new Kings teammate to the local media"-type of thing.

I caught the last five minutes of it on khtk. Yeah, it sounded like the intro to Sac meeting. I bet khtk plays it again tonight.

I'd listen to what Artest says before I'd believe anything coming out of Howdy Doody or Lamb Chop's mouths.

;)

wow. This is the slowest interview I've ever heard in my life. You've got two of the dullest intellects conversing with each other - Lam and Artest. Wow, just wow.

i cant believe Lamb actually told artest that he thought he was kookoo for coco puffs
Yeah, it's not like Artest has a particularly good sense of humor so I'm not sure what he was trying to accomplish there.

Lamb was insulting Artest? What exactly did he say? If he was insulting Ron, Lamb's a moron(although going by what I've heard, Lamb's a moron anyways).

Yeah, that's how it went down. He wasn't just sporadically calling him that. Still... Lamb sucks outside of football. I was waitng for Grant to just take over but it was 50/50 on the interview.

i will tell u now...ron might have said 'yea, we're ok'....

but...

thats the sort of thing ron doesnt deal too well with...

he takes it far too personally....as strange as it may seem, its just the sort of thing ron would be quite hurt by....though, of course he wouldnt say so...ron doesnt deal with criticism well...let alone personal shots...

i wouldnt be shocked at all to see a manifestation of this somewhere down the road....

dont look for ron to do this guy any favors....

I wouldn't blame Artest in any way, foretaz, if he was insulted about that whole comment.

I'd like to ask Mike Lamb just who the bleep he thinks he is and what allows him to make those kinds of comments. What was Artest supposed to say in response? It's ambush radio, however, and for some reason some people find it entertaining. I just find it tedious. I'd rather hear GOOD interviewing by someone like Gary Gerould that lame blatherings by Lamb, but maybe that's just me.

The fact Ron kept his cool is laudable. I'm going on instinct here, but my instinct was that Lamb was hoping against hope that just maybe Artest would make some kind of comment he (Lamb) could use to start something with.

There are times when I'm really ashamed of some of the media personalities from Sacramento. This is one of them. I sincerely hope that someone tells Artest that Mike Lamb is not representative of how the fans feel. He's a Jim Rome wannabe and nothing more...

Lamb didn't mince words even after the trade was finalized that he thought bringing Artest here was a horrible idea. I also heard Jim Rome say the same. Used a lot of adjectives about Ron and the Maloofs both for this trade. Maybe he figured if he provoked him enough he would go off and could say "told you so"!

I know - how childish is that, but we are talking about Lame...err Lamb

Do you guys think Lamb should be fired?
If you fired every sports talking head who had said or done something stupid, you'd have pretty much nothing but dead air most of the time.

Fired? No. But if I was an athlete, I'd think twice about talking to him...

Lamb and others like him thrive on controversy, real or contrived. Don't even mention firing him. It would just enable him to be more irritating as he pontificated about his motives, etc.

Ignoring him and the whole thing is about the best way to deal with it IMHO. Don't even acknowledge you listened to his show...

I think in a lot of ways this is more important of an issue than just general radioboob ethics.

We're all sitting aorund crossing our fingers hoping this Artest marriage sticks, and then you have a tool come along and start poking Ron with a stick? Not cool. And for us could have real world consequences.

Yeah, I was really confused for just that reason - I know Grant for one is a huge homer/employee of the Kings so I'm not sure why he let Lamm go on with that.

The whole interview struck me as really patronizing, with Grant and Lamm trying to pull certain responses out of Artest and Artest was just kind of lethargic sounding - I don't think he's any kind of supergenius. It was weird to say the least.
