Governer Schwarzenegger Proclaims April 24th "Day of Rememberence of the Armenian Genocide"

If you don't know what the Armenian Genocide is, the link above gives a brief summary about it.

I'm not into the whole Armenian culture pride thing even though I'm Armenian, but I just thought it was nice seeing the Armenian Genocide getting some recognition.

If your wondering why the governer of California proclaimed this, a lot of Armenians moved to Southern California more than a decade ago from Armenia and Iran, and still do. I'm sure you could find some Armenians in different parts of the country if you looked.

As I recall former California Governor Deukmejian was Armenian and had a strong interest in this issue (and I remember pretty well because I sat next to his daughter in draftng class in high school (it was a nice gesture on his part when he came in on Parent/Teacher Night and sat down right next to my parents at his daughter's desk and chatted them up).
