Is it just me, or has anyone else noticed more wild turkeys in the area lately? I have seen more in Carmichael, where I live, and also in the main Sacramento area. Mainly I have seen them as roadkill, something I have never seen in the area until recently. One roadkill turkey I saw was along Fair Oaks Blvd. and Watt Ave., which was a funny place to see a turkey being that the area is all residential, business, and highly congested traffic. Not much area for turkeys to live in, it seems. The other even weirder place I saw a roadkill turkey was just last week along Capital City freeway near Cal Expo! That area is all concrete freeway and this was on the upper-level. There's some bushes around, but not enough for any turkeys to call home. They sure do make for weird-looking roadkill too, being that they're so big and colorful. Not suprising that they end up that way given how stupid turkeys are. I have also seen quite a few live ones as well running around the American River bike trail.
