Here's our weird death story of the week:

SEOUL (Reuters) - A South Korean man who played computer games for 50 hours almost non-stop died of heart failure minutes after finishing his mammoth session in an Internet cafe, authorities said Tuesday.

The 28-year-old man, identified only by his family name Lee, had been playing on-line battle simulation games at the cybercafe in the southeastern city of Taegu, police said.
Lee had planted himself in front of a computer monitor to play on-line games on Aug. 3. He only left the spot over the next three days to go to the toilet and take brief naps on a makeshift bed, they said.

"We presume the cause of death was heart failure stemming from exhaustion," a Taegu provincial police official said by telephone.

Thats crazy. I wonder if he had already had heart problems.
I had some friends back in highschool do something similar except they were not allowed to sleep at all. They all put in $20 (I think the pot was around $200). I think the winner stayed up for 2 1/2 days. They seemed to be ok after that bet.

As for this game, I think I know which one it was. Starcraft has been a popular game in S.Korea for at least the past decade. I have a cousin over there who makes a living on that game by winning all sorts of tournaments.

This is not the first gamer that died of exhaustion. Some crazy addicts out there.

The game in question has to be WOW. I think Koreans have placed yearly at the top of the world championships for Starcraft.

Wow...I'm suprised that cafe let him stay. He must have smelled terrible by the end. I know I wouldn't want to eat there.
I think it was one of those internet cafe's. No food served. But LOL to your comment.
