Monarchs WIN over Sun in Game 1
WOOOOOHOOOOOO!!!! Ok I never started one of these for Monarchs before and hope no one is making one at the same time. If so, just delete mine. I just got done watching the game and I'm soo happy. AWESOME game that was. Exciting the whole way through. Yolanda was killin em in the 2nd half! It was just a great game and i'm very happy they won. GO MONARCHS!!!

Krista: Its hard to beat a team 3 times in a row (NLF mentality)
Koz: M's look like busineess right now, but the mantra of this team is still, its not over
Ticha: didn't plan on Sales being hot like that....played team bball, everoyne contributed.
In 1st half didn't push the ball enough....we're aggressive on the O boared...In the 2nd half, gave the ball to Yo and Demaya
Still has a little trouble pushing off of the foot...it was throbbing the whole game, but you can rest after the season
It feels good to win the first one....b2b to their advantage... their goal was to steal at least one
In the huddle after the game: they always do that after every game...this was just one game, they didn't win a title
yeah, that's the problem you have when you don't fully develop your players
Koz and Ross: The pace early one was at Sun's favor....the pace slowed down, late in the 1st and in the 2nd half, it was in Sacto favor
Dydek had no idea how to stop Yo, but Sales was hot too
Coach T: Trememdous effort from the team....had some breakdowns on McWilliams. But D was solid. In 2nd half Ticha got the break going They got out hustled, but then they started making all the hustle plays, later in the game. You have to make Dydek move, and obviously Wahlen in hobbled Just trying to survive and advance
The more Sun goes to the bench, the worse they play....better for the M's
Ticha was very tentative tonight....at about 60% They made big plays, but we made the big plays when we had too to win Don't plan to test anyone...they play their game Have to make adjustments...better when they are running
The M's wear you down....lots of athletes Full game of pressure man-to-man D Powell did a decent job on D
Back to Koz and Jason: They are happy but very realistic about what happened tonight
Can't belive some of the passes Ticha did tonight

Demaya: The game became more passionate later on (as opposed to physcial)...Its very rare when you get to play in a game where both teams want it so bad and are trying to do everything to win It was fun playing the game
Dydek is a force and will get her blocks....but Yo got to her
Demaya: I love defense....fav part of the game, being able to stop their biggest player.
They try to take away one of them and its in their favor, they paly 11 people, for them its important for their players to score
Krista says they are very physcial....
Demaya: Taj is a vet, uses her body very well. Very smart. Its hard (to defend her)...She stil makes her presence known
Demaya: Knee is great...coach tried to protect her in this game playing on 24 min
B2b: Look at their min, main 3 players all over 30+ min he only one who played big min, Becky...is young and in good shape If no one respects their bench, they do
the bench is ready to come and take it to another level- there is no bench to compare to theirs

Good win for the Monarchs, taking one on the Suns home court. This is a tough matchup for me, being a Whalen fan and a Sun fan as well as a Monarch fan.
1. I'm glad Whalen played. Even though she wasn't her self and able to do what she is known and capable of doing, it was a good win.
2. Coaches mic'ed. I'm a fan of listening to what the coaches/players say on the court during the game, umm maybe coaches shouldn't be mic'ed. I'm not against the cursing, but I do understand it's a "family show". If they are mic'ed, then maybe have a delay on just the coaches......just a thought.
3. Ticha, glad she was able to play. That between the legs pass to herself to break the defense......awesome. I'm surprised that doesn't happen more often with Margo (maybe it does, we just don't see it).
I guess in all..Congrats to the Monarchs, let get them again tomorrow.

Yo was KILLING in tha 2nd half!! 2 more wins ladies, 2 more wins. Great job by everyone. I really wish Erin could play a couple minutes, hopefully next game. I also say Lady Grooms behind the bench. Good to see her there.

Maloofs 1, Sun fan 0. As the final horn sounded and their team claimed a 69-65 victory in Game 1 of the Finals, the jubilant owners pumped their fists in the air and started heading for the tunnel. But not before engaging in a little lighthearted banter with a Sun fan, complete with the upside down thumb gesture. Followed by a throng of disappointed Sun fans. We'll be back soon to recap the night and give you a glimpse at what to expect in Game 2.
