You going to blame Moore for the rebounding woes? I actually like his defense. Although he's not a shot-blocker, I think his length does at least help on penetration. If you put in KT to rebound then we have shortcomings somewhere else. If you put Justin in to rebound then you have to live with his average defense and young mistakes. Moore is the best option right now....meaning we will have a hole to fill at some point in time. I think Moore will get better as he acclimates.

I agree, Moore will get better with time. I mean give the guy a break. This was only his 3rd game with this team. Anyone that is ripping Moore after 3 preseason games needs to chill out.

I have a right to my opinion, just like you have the right to your opinion. Therefore, don't come across TELLING people to chill out.

By saying "chill out", I'm saying to give this team some time. It has been 3 preseason games so far, and there really is no reason to rip any of the players yet. They are all out there giving maximum effort, and showing signs of playing as a "team". I admit that Moore has not been playing that great yet, but this is a new team for him. He has to get used to playing with these guys. Over time, he will learn the tendencies of the players around him, and he will get better acclimated to the system. One thing I think everyone that has watched the 3 games can see is that he is out there giving it his all. Even when he is not in the game, he is the guy on the bench standing up and cheering his teammates on. He has got a great attitude, and is a hustle guy, which is something this team lacked last year.

I am NOT ripping on him. I'm just giving MY opinion. If I said Cisco has been terrible in the game last night, does that mean I am ripping on him? No, it doesn't. So, far, I have not been impressed with Moore.

I see the Kings have improved their rebounding. They got out rebounded by 15.

Someone tell me why they signed Mikki Moore??? This guy is TERRIBLE.

Ok Rock, whatever you say....I guess by saying "someone tell me why they signed Mikki Moore??? This guy is Terrible" is not ripping the guy. I understand that this is your opinion, but in my "opinion", this is also ripping him.

It is MY opinion. Again, I'm entitled to MY opinion, just like YOU are entitled to YOUR opinion.

So far it definitely does NOT look like Mikki Moore will help our rebounding or defensive problems very much. He's a good energy guy and all but doesn't seem like the type of guy we would need or want to sign at this point. With that said however it doesn't bother me too much that we signed him. I mean he'll hustle around make some jumpers and maybe block a shot now and then and seems to be of good character. He'll help put on a good show so at this point I guess I'll take it.

On a side note Rock when I'm scrolling down and I see that nice little dog in your avatar then read how tough you are on some players (rightly so) I can't help but smile. :p

Mikki Moore is unfortunately playing a lot like Mikki Moore thus far. Which is all fine and dandy until you're paying him $6mil a year to do it. In some ways I'm not sure it matters who starts there at this point. We don't have a starter. Just a bunch of overpaid deeply flawed mediocrities. You can put in the rebounder who cannot defend or score. Or the post player who cannot defend or rebound. Or the rebounder/shotblocker who is inconsistent, cannot play offense, and makes all the mistakes you would expect out of a kid. Or the energetic scrub wiht the good attitude and solid jumper who can't rebound, score in the post, or body people up. Or...

I see Mikki Moore as a big man version of Jason Hart. He tries hard and hustles on the court. But at the end, they just simply don't have the talent to amount to much help that the team needs.

i like piksi's suggestion from last season, where we plant a tree in the paint. said tree would stop penetration and "every now and then the ball would get stuck in its branches and it would get credited with a rebound." :D

I think that typifies a lot of our roster. We have Kevin keeping our score up, Ron keeping our opponent's score down, and thirteen other guys milling around because we're required to have 5 players on the court. Yes, that is an exaggeration, but not by a lot. Too many of our players are a little too one dimensional, or just not quite good enough.

I think that you can get by with a bunch of generic players, as long as you have one who's a monster in the paint, and one that's handing out 7 or 8 assists a game. But our guy in the paint is Justin, and our floor general is... who? Mike, Brad, Ron, and others take turns leading the team for assists, but it's rare for any of them to make more than 4 or 5.

To be an average NBA team, we should be getting 41 rebounds and 21 assists per game. So far this preseason, we're averaging 37.7 and 17.3, which were -4.7 and -6.3 versus our opponents. Maybe there is some mysterious factor which can make us win a lot of games despite that, but I don't know what it is.

Oh well. We may have half the talent of 5 years ago, but at least they're fun to watch again. Until someone can offer definitive proof that Geoff hasn't been replaced by a doppelganger, that may have to do.
