Why can Tyreke only shoot well AGAINST us?
Having three kids and a grandpa as our guard rotation might have something to do with it...
Keep up the good work PDA!

A lot of guards shoot well against us.Why can Tyreke only shoot well AGAINST us?
Hold up, "let" him go off? Evans is the second-leading scorer on their team. He's gone for 25+ twenty-two times in sixty-eight games.Cuz didn't get any help from Ray Mac nor Ben..disappointed in our back court. Not to mention they let Tyreke go off..Rudy played a pretty poor game too
Jeez just looking at the box score the plus/minus for the bench is horrendous. Boogie the lone soldier out there. We need more talent!
Rudy was comfortable against Q-Pon, Brow is just too much length for him.Cuz didn't get any help from Ray Mac nor Ben..disappointed in our back court. Not to mention they let Tyreke go off..Rudy played a pretty poor game too
Technically, he's still tied with Thompson on that second one but, yeah.@kingsnotesguru: At Pelicans, @boogiecousins moves into 2nd place in rebounds & 4th in blocks in Sacramento-era.
Why can Tyreke only shoot well AGAINST us?
Because we don't guard the perimeter. Its like shooting in an open gym
In response to you and V21, yes they let him explode on offense. He was braking down our defense like there was no tomorrow. His pts don't even reflect how dominant he was..for example if you just looked at AD stats, you'd think he had some dominant type or game, but we who did watch it, know he was shut down until a few mins left in the 4th.Hold up, "let" him go off? Tyreke was dominant tonight and we had no answer. We let him do whatever he wanted. Put someone with size on him...anyone
It doesn't help that we did let him do his thing without stopping it.. It just bothered the heck out of me to see Tyreke do whatever he wanted tonight. I don't know if we had anyone who could stop him, but this loss was a loss. Better team won and it's alright.. We will beat them next time though..It's semantics at this point. Your comments sound as though we could have stopped him but just didn't. I'm saying there was no one in a Kings uniform tonight that was going to keep Tyreke Evans from doing his thing.
It's amusing some think this was a rare night for Reke.
And we decided 11M/Y was 3M too expensive,.
Well, First of All(TM), I don't know that it could reasonably stated that Evans is overvalued: one might say, relative to his production, that he is valued right in line with what he ought to be. You'll never hear me make the case that he's an efficient player, but he is putting up productive numbers on a winning team, so he's already proven a lot of people wrong, who said that he couldn't do that. Let me ask you this: how many players do you think there are in the league putting up his numbers (pts/reb/ast) or better, and how many of them do you think get paid less than Evans?Evans...well to me he is still overvalued quite a bit on this board. He is a unique player, but still has lots of holes in his game. Evans, Rudy and DMC would be a core, that's way too vulnerable to a zone defense.
AD is a better fit next to Evans than DMC. The only negative point in the Reke trade, was that our FO passed on Lopez.

Secondly, I don't think that keeping Evans would have enabled us to get Gay without ultimately trading him, anyway, so I'm doubtful that a Cousins/Evans/Gay core was ever feasible.
It's amusing some think this was a rare night for Reke. He's been their 2nd best player all season, has had a number of games like the one tonight and arguably has been the engine which has pushed NO to much of its success.
And we decided 11M/Y was 3M too expensive, so we moved him for Vasquez. Awesome.
Can you compare Reke to other players? He is a more or less positionless combo guard/forward and can play up to 3 positions. Closest thing to him is maybe Evan Turner, but Reke is way more skilled. Lance Stephenson was very similar for Indiana, but gets paid less in Charlotte. You can't compare Reke to players like Wes Matthews or even Avery Bradley.
So for me it's not about numbers. It's about how you get those numbers. Is Reke a good player? Of course he is. Is he a good fit for a team built around Cousins? No he isn't from my point of view.
I prefer Gay over Reke, because he can play the 3 and the 4, is a better shooter, can create his own shot almost like Reke. He will never be the drive and kick player Reke is, but with a Center, that's able to be a playmaker and is not a pure finisher like f.e. AD that's not needed in order to be a successful team. For me Reke's very unique skillset makes him a lot less valuable in a league that is all about floor spacing.
There was a time when all players were like that. The specialist notion of point guard, shooting guard, etc. , is fairly recent. I have a hard time wrapping my head around the idea that having a talented player who's not a specialist is a negative, unless you're determined, above and beyond anything else to make him fit into a specialist role. Can you compare Reke to other players? He will never be the drive and kick player Reke is...
I find these sentences to be incongruous. It should stand to reason that a player with Evans' drive-and-kick ability should be highly valuable in a league that you claim to be all about floor spacing. The only way it wouldn't be is if you have your mind made up that he has to be one of the guys doing the spacing. For me Reke's very unique skillset makes him a lot less valuable in a league that is all about floor spacing.
