I’m so cool trading Fox for a haul.
Like… Bridges got SO MUCH. We should get that and more for Fox. If it’s there, make the move. Then trade the loot to build around what we have now.
But Fox had dinner with Brown the other night. I don't even know what to think any more.
Here's the thing though - Fox could be totally cool with Brown and yet there is no way that Klutch would allow Brown to call out their client nightly. It's damaging to the brand. The reporters who don't watch games only highlights get those clips of Brown calling out Fox and leave off their awards ballots and he loses out on the super. He misses an all star nod over a guy who doesn't get called out for mistakes. And why did he single out the dog walk on a play that turned into a made 3-pointer?
So yeah, Fox seems at least superficially cool with Brown but Klutch had to have at least been tangentially involved in this decision. It happened days after Rich Paul met with the FO.

He's still under contract for next season, it won't be a sign and trade and the receiving team will not want his new deal on the books when they make the trade as it dramatically complicates the trade. They will likely want him to sign the extension upon arrival though. If Fox wants to leave at the end of the season, it will be by sign and trade and the Kings better be getting a couple of good young players and a bunch of first rounders (Houston or San Antonio would be interesting trade partners). We could potentially do a rebuild overnight with the haul we get.
I know your feelings on the matter and I'll do you one better when it comes to separating the person from the coach, if Klutch had anything to do with this (and I feel confident they did) they arranged the dinner as a PR stunt.Fox may be able to separate Brown "the person" from Brown "the coach". That is a mature way of looking at a person, especially now that Brown is no longer the coach and that aspect of the relationship is gone..
Since Brown was hired, I have constantly and consistently said that he seems to be a nice and decent guy. Also noted was that his coaching, especially teaching and training techniques, were antithetical to long-term success. (Feel free to check my past posts...can't imagine there would be much interest.)
With the vastly improved roster during Brown's first year, success was likely despite the flawed educational aspects. But those aspects wear thin in the long term and become impediments to progress. That is what happened here in Sacramento and most likely in the other head coaching positions he has held. His next head coaching tenure, should another team take a chance, will be revealing.

If he can sign the super he signs it and then we'll have another problem on our hands in one or two years if we aren't winning and he demands out.Good point, he is looking to sign the (super) max extension this off season.

Does Klutch have the pull to make it happen out of thin air?He ain’t getting the SuperMax. No way he makes an all-NBA team let alone even potentially an All-Star team, right?
What are the odds that he suddenly shows up every night and for every quarter? It's a tough decision.
We could get a ton for him, and retool around a roster with a lot of talent, while watching him average 30ppg on another team.
Or we resign him to a bajillion dollars and hope he doesn't kill his trade value prior to demanding out by reverting to "sulky Fox" if we continue to struggle in the vicious West.
Knowing Monte, he'll wait around for a Godfather offer without directly putting Fox on the trade block, which isn't the worst approach. Fingers crossed Vivek doesnt get all wishy washy and **** this up like he did with the Cuz trade.
In my mind Miami is probably the worst package between the Houston, Spurs and Miami and it could still be a compelling one if we got JJJ and Ware.I very much want Fox to stay. But if he gets traded, there better be no expectation other than for the Kings to get the best package possible. I can't stand selfish players who expect a team to sacrifice itself because the player feels entitled to a spot on a good team.

Not sure anyone has missed that. If he even becomes eligible to sign the super it means things are working. The biggest part in all of this is the belief there is no way any player on the Kings is going to become eligible until we establish ourselves as a perennial playoff threat.People are missing an important point. Fox can only sign a super max contract with the kings and can't be traded for 1 year after.

There's still time until the deadline. Monte should kick the tires on a trade market at the deadline, but unless something like a 3-4 pick situation is there it's smarter to wait. See what happens on draft night. You never know.
