I think we were on the same page. The one who i think gets squeezed out is Crowder, but can't he play at 4?

Defense is about hustle more than height and wing-span imo. It's also about athleticism. Temple was also a good defender. I didn't see anyone hustle as much as Lawson though. I don't have the whole picture since I don't know if the Kings even approached Lawson or where or if he's resigning. The Kings brought Lawson in and gave him a chance, and he responded. I have to think they decided against an offer, anyway....

If they don't add another SF, I see a good competition between Richardson and Jackson for the last wing rotation spot. I've penciled in Bog, but he's going to have those kids nipping at his heels too.

This is probably still no better than a 30 win team, but they will compete. And as the season gets long, injuries happen, and the kids will get opportunities.

Hield/Bogdanovic
Temple/Richardson
Zbo/Skal
Koufos/WCS

With Mason, Jackson, Giles, and Papa in the GLeague.

If we don't get Porter, then which off-season is comparable since 1998? That time we got Mikki Moore? When we scored Greivis Vasquez? The Carl Landry coup?

I'm saying the year we change from Collison/Lawson at PG to Hill/Fox, and pull in the Serbian Sniper, and shed every last remembrance of the Gerbil years ... and don't sleep on Giles he's a huge wild card - this will go down as the biggest off season since 1998.

Lawson worked hard on defense last year but Hill by far is a superior defender. I give Lawson the edge as far as playmaking. But its nice that we are going to have that size at PG with Hill and Fox behind him.

That small ball backcourt of Lawson and Collison can now go away for ever. If we go small ball, we at least have height in the backcourt
 
Hayward going to the Celtics....I'd be checkin on availability of what Celtics need to do. I don't know what Crowder makes but is their a chance we deal Koufos for Crowder and a bigger contract that Boston wants to dump? Crowder and a big? Love Koufos but we need a SF

I'll repeat - they have similar stats. And Would rate them similarly.
I would say players retire usually around 34/35 unless they are exceptional, so 31 is getting towards the end of career and relatively old in the NBA. Its a good point on his playoff experience.....I'm not particularly against the Hill signing, just wondering on Lawson.

Hill turned down 4 years 80 million from Utah during the season lol we didn't overpay

At the end of the day we had money to spend and used it for a guy who has been a class act and consistently good player his whole career. We also gave him a relatively easy deal to move should he produce like he has and a 3rd year partially guaranteed option to boot. I think Lawson played well last year, but he hasn't been the most consistent player throughout his career and his personality and character are big red flags. He is not the type of guy I would ever want to be the one to show a new player the ropes. George Hill being the one to mentor Fox is the much, much, much safer play than Lawson.

I like a lot of the moves, just would be a tad unsatiating to stick that carrot in our faces and not get it done so to speak (for me)

Like I said , I'll reserve judgement for later......and just because the organization has money to spend, doesn't mean they ought to burn a hole in their own pocket.
 
Great news to see that we have agreed deals with George Hill and Zach Randolph.

George Hill had a very good season with Utah. It is a concern that he missed games but when that guy is healthy he's a good starting point guard. He can make plays, score, and shoot the three. So he is an excellent signing and it means we can be patient with Fox's development and not throw him to the wolves. I suppose we could use Hill in the same manner that the Spurs and Pacers (year one) did and mainly use him off the bench and let Fox start - either way, starter and develop Fox slowly, or bench and start Fox, gives us an excellent point guard duo.

Even at 35 years old Zach Randolph is a quality player. Last season he came off the bench and averaged 14 points and 8 rebounds. He's a leader and that's what this team needs, good veteran presences that can get this team playing competitive basketball and head in the right direction. Like our PG duo, this gives us two excellent options at our PF - the veteran and the young rising star.

I am honestly excited by these two moves. It would be great if we could top this off with Porter joining us, but hey that's being greedy!

Joerger has always favored vets over young players. He did this in Memphis, and we saw him do it Malachi. There were a few times where Malachi would make a mistake on defense, and Joerger immediately yanked him out. However, Matt Barnes could play like complete garbage, but faced no consequences.

I really want to see the vets be held to the same standards as the young guys. We only saw Skal, Hield, and Papa get the greenlight because the Kings decided to tank at the end of the year. If we still had Cousins, there's no way Skal would've saw the light of day last year.
