Free agency mega thread 2025 edition!

Domas/Eubanks/Reynaud
Kuminga/IJ
Keegan/Nique
Lavine/Keon
Schröder/*gulp* Russ

Is like an actual interesting/fun group of players to run with for a season while Perry tries to figure out what we have. Still have the MLE so maybe acquire some more forward depth (Precious Achiuwa?) plus there’s whatever you’d get from moving Malik/DDR. Also getting Shroder and Russ as culture mentors makes more sense with Kuminga on the team haha

No it doesn’t

Where’s Derozan in your scenario? Getting Kuminga would be a home run if we had sold Sabonis/DDR and let Kuminga and Keegan lead us this year while securing a top 8 pick

he's shipping DeMar in his scenario. He'll be gone by the deadline.

Chris Boucher???

From a Warriors beat. Woah.

So Monk, Carter, Saric 2 seconds for Kuminga?

Leaves you as:

Dennis ||
LaVine || Keon
DDR || Nique
Keegan || Kuminga?
Domas || Eubanks || Reynaud

I mean you'd simply have to send DDR somewhere to start Kuminga. I have to imagine starting is like step 1 in getting Kuminga to sign with us. And you'd want that anyway with a guy (looking at these salaries) we'd be paying 25mil+ to.

I think obviously moving Demar would be nice but I don’t know if you absolutely have to right now. It might be a situation where Lavine or Demar are a 6th man though. We would need another PG. Westbrook ?

We have to give Matt George credit here right I think he was first on Carter and picks being the talks

No way Kuminga comes off the bench if he agrees to come here it’s already stated he wants to be a top three option as is

What about Deebo to Milwaukee for Markovic, Kuzma and a couple future seconds or something. Kuz would be fine off the bench and Markovic is a Santi Aldama role of the dice.

So the Kings need to give up assets for a guy who wants 30mil and has pretty much proven nothing in terms of deserving it. He's another low IQ player along with Lavine , I'm feeling really bad for Sabonis and Keegan this year

It's a swing for the fences I guess and he and Keegan do fit well but paying Kuminga 30mil is insane unless he really shows something this year

This is the Warriors. Odds are they are using the Kings. That could be the Kings fan PTSD talking. lol.

What would be the angle though? If that’s really the offer I’m not sure if they will find a better one. Miami won’t part with Ware. They don’t seem to want to move Jovic. That leaves Jaquez and like Highsmith or something.

There is rumours Miami want John Collins (Terry Rozier plus assets i assume) which would make all those guys except Ware available

Surprised at all the Kuminga hate I’m seeing on other groups and forums. KHTK was hating earlier too.

Seems the Warriors media campaign to tank his value has mostly been successful at creating the perception that he’s an empty calorie player AND despite being only 22 and a prototypical modern forward, he has already hit his ceiling or is close.

Hell, it’s even starting to give me trepidations. Warriors did this guy dirty after the Butler trade. They switched up on him. Remember they offered him an extension before the season

It depends on the narrative as to whether or not the Warriors "don't want Kuminga", if they didn't, why didn't they trade him already? I guess I might be giving a franchise with winners cred more credit than they deserve but they would never have let themselves get into that situation. And they aren't. The Kings can only offer the MLE at this point. The Warriors would easily just match that and tell Kuminga to suck it up. Which Kuminga would likely never sign that BTW. If the Kings want him, they'll have to pay. I would say Carter, Monk, and depending on the picks is paying a pretty hefty price for a sight unseen result. I like Kumingas upside but it's still more of the gamble territory than guarantee.
