I think the lowkey irony of this entire thing is that I actually like Zach Lavine’s fit on the Spurs a lot more than I like De’Aaron Fox’s.

Yeah but in 4 years when Harper is due his extension and they have 30% of their cap to Wemby and another 25% to Castle, that's 85% between 3 players. That's a problem unless they have dethroned OKC and everyone else.

Four years is a long time but castle will be up before that and he’ll get a max based on this year and potential alone

From a basketball standpoint, it would be a good rivalry between OKC and Spurs. Wemby vs Chet and Fox vs Shai.

No that's what I am saying - Vic and Castle seem already like locks to get their max extensions over the next 2-3 offseasons and Vic will almost assuredly get the designated rookie flavor max as long as he is healthy this season.

I doubt anyone is going to announce he'll miss any time until the contract extension has had time to settle. It's been panned for the most part from what I can tell. KOC sure hated it. "He hates everything". but yeah.

I don't play anymore - much too old (not that I was ever any good at basketball), but if you want to stay away from ruptures, stay away from back-peddaling - a former division 2 player told me how he ruptured his achilles back pedaling. Indeed, outta soccer, football, and basketball, basketball gave me the most injuries - not even close, and I played more soccer and football than basketball.

The issue with Fox is that his super power is tied to his speed. If you take that away, he’s a very ordinary player. He doesn’t have elite court vision or good 3 point shooting for a starting PG.

If that hamstring becomes a lingering problem, Spurs fans will turn on Fox super fast with that max contract of his.
