I'm just glad Bibby's point is proven, I've been waiting for this series to see Jerome get murdered....and here are the stats...

19 Mins, 2-8 FG, 2 Rebs, 3 Fouls, 4 Points...WOW...maybe he needs to get that trash bag he took out the last game and hide in it for the rest of the series..

but playing against a weak defensive team surely will :).

If brad was healthy james wouldnt of put up the numbers he did.
He might have. Brad can't stop anybody healthy or not.

But this falloff by James against the Spurs was entirely predictable. Scoring agianst Tim Duncan and the rest of the Spurs frontcourt is a bit different than scoring against the Kings frontcourt.

I have to second that Brick. Brad is kinda scrappy but not a guy you rely on to get a stop.

JJ has no chance against the spurs. That IMO definitely speaks volumes to our weakness. Especially when we made JJ look like an all-star.

jerome james will wish that the kings had beaten the sonics in the first round... if seattle would have lost in the first round, james would have made a lot of money... now that he is being exposed against a quality front court of the spurs, james's market value as a free agent just droped like a rock.... if seatle would had lost to the kings, someone would have given James a 6 year 60mil contract as a free agent... LOL

brad would not have made a difference healthy or not. he's just not a good defensive player.

we need a bruiser plain and simple to prevent bad players from going off. on the frontline at least. too many joel prizbilla's, chris kamans and jerome james's this year for my liking.

He went from looking like Wilt Chamberlain/Bill Russell/Shaq against the Kings to looking like ...Jerome James against the Spurs.

That right there tells you the difference between the Spurs and the Kings and how far Kings have to go to become a championship level team. The Kings MUST address the problems of defense, points in the paint, and rebounding in the offseason. Getting another guy who can shoot or pass will be useless.

Too bad James had to run his mouth with all that bizarre stuff he made up. I generally root for the underdog. Not, however, when they're classless clowns.

Enjoy the Spurs Jerome. Karma has a way of coming back to get you...

After Game 5 he had a trash bag and said he released the old Jerome James.

Well....he may want to find that trash bag again.....

Hmmm, that sounds a little harsh Bricklayer.

I know the Kings arent the best defensive team in the league (understatement), but a cursory glance at the player stats on the www.kings.com site seems to put Brads defensive efforts in a fairly positive light relative to the rest of the team. If we are looking at defensive rebounds and blocked shots as the key criteria.

I think we ought to make some allowance for his injury. Without seeing game 5 vs Seattle its hard for me to make authoritative comment, but im led to belive that he wasnt jumping well at all in the final minutes, but perhaps tat is to be expected and im sure that we'll see a more energetic Brad next season.

I hope you'd agree that his commitment to defensive hustle is unquestioned and few try harder to gain posession of the ball.:)

Do you think it's the playoffs OR his upcoming free agency? I think we all could name a myriad of players who, in their contract year, suddenly came alive and then, once they received a nice fat contract, settled back into mediocrity...or worse.

Abit of both I think. A smart player would play hard and put up the numbers in the regular season if he was just trying to get a contract. Shame he didn't do that but I read yesterday that Orlando have interest in him and may offer most If not all of their MLE to him which is amazingly stupid. Jerome has all the talent in the world, the size and strength to be a good post scorer and rebounder but he is just lazy most of the time. I would like him back but not for the kind of price he will likely demand due to one series. So If we lose him because some other team overpays him for what he did in the Kings series, I blame you guys:D

What does it matter? It's not like Kenny Smith is the only guy who compares Jerome James to Shaq. I've read that on Real Gm.com to the sports columns written on yahoo. Hell, the commentators would call Jerome James 'big fella'. It's become a joke among analysts and sports fans and unfortunately the joke is on the kings.

I used to hate the criticism the Kings got in 2001-02 and 02-03 cause I felt it wasn't justified. But back then the Kings dealt with injuries and Kobe and Shaq. Now there's no point in defending them cause the Kings are making a guy like Jerome James look like star. The Kings should take it as a slap in the face and hopefully wake up.

I generally root for the underdog (one of the main reasons I became a Kings' fan during the dark ages) and also tend to pull for the team that beats us (Lakers excluded). If we must lose, I would rather say we were beaten by the best than just another good team. However, after the things Jerome James said during the series, I CANNOT cheer for his team, so I am saying go Spurs (at least for this series). I did feel bad for the other guys on the Sonics the other night. I think we can all relate to injury problems. Too soft hearted, I guess!!

Have to disagree with those two statements and agree with Bibby. Four games dont make you an all-star and four games dont get you a lot of money... especially 6/60mil.

It has before -- see Croshere, Austin. :)

Now that you mention it, one great postseason run (2001-2002) did get Bibby a pretty big payday.
I think Bibby has earned every penny... We wouldnt have made the playoffs the past two years without him so I think hes worth it.

Mmm...that last bit is a bit of a stretch, but Mike is certainly one of those players who's play has continued to get better after signing the big contract rather than a guy who just had a good week to get the big contract and then returned to normal.

Can you say, $$$?

James is nothing more than a ton of muscle and bones, with average skills.

That explains why he did so well against the Kings front court! ;)

no bibby=no playoffs. period.

The difference is Bibby's playoff run could have been predicted. He was steadily improving year after year and no one could deny that he had the potential to break out big. Also, he sustained his performance through 3 rounds as opposed to one series. James gave no indication of his ability to show up big prior to the series, and any team looking to pick him up would know how big a risk he would be and pay him accordingly.
