As we sit and wait through the quiet days of August, and there's little to nothing new to write about regarding the Sacramento Kings, let's take a step back and ask a simple question heading into next season. Can the Kings be fun next season? It seems like a simple question, but after last year's turmoil, the Kings are in desperate need of a change in the overall vibe of Sacramento. During the Beam Team year in which the Kings broke their playoff drought, the entire city was buzzing.

Can we not be both fun AND good?

First half of Bagle's rookie year before it went to pot.

Yeah I remember we were all pretty hopeful about his and Giles future at the time. I'm not sure if the on court product was particularly exciting to me but the idea of these guys turning into potential all stars was. That sure went away in a hurry.

They were fast and athletic and The Scores lead by Shump worked hard. Giles didn't really factor into it so much as the thought we'd maybe have this run and gun team, then we brought Giles in, Bagley seemed to basically get benched instead of become the full time center, amidst all the infighting between Brandon Williams and Dave Joerger and their dueling leaks. Right up until the final 15-20 games when it seems like everyone gave up.
Tyreke's rookie season was super fun to watch.
Yeah, this one was even more fun I think. Chasing 20-5-5, damn it sure seemed like we had a future star in the making and then to land Cousins the following offseason only to have the whole thing Maloof'd. 😢
