But when you look at it, Chamberlain is already considered an all time great if not the greatest to ever play the game. If he is somparing himself to Kobe and if he is trying to show off about that, it means that Kobe is GREATER and Chamberlain is trying to get there or atleast as if Kobe is that yardstick.

Ok, at the risk of "killing the joke in the process of dissecting it", let me explain the attempt. In this media age of over-hype and little-to-no historical perspective, there were many who proposed that Kobe's 81 point game wasn't simply "one for the ages", but, in fact, THE greatest performance in NBA history, eclipsing even Wilt Chamberlain's 100 point game.

I simply wanted to offer up a counter-arguement of a mathematical nature.
