No surprise about Reggie White.

Too bad he passed away. I can hear his induction speech now: "Harry Carson and I got in because when you look at the black race, black people are very gifted in what we call worship and celebration. A lot of blacks like to dance, and if you go to black churches, you see people jumping up and down, because they really get into it."

"Troy Aikman got in because white people were blessed with the gift of structure and organization. You guys do a good job of building businesses and things of that nature and you know how to tap into money pretty much better than a lot of people do around the world."

Bravo. It's a tragedy that he died so young (same with D. Thomas), but he needs to be taken down a notch for that ridiculous speech. Maybe he would name off all of the Hall-of-Famers that came out after their career was over and do a number on them as well.

You know he did aploigize for that dumb mistake and was stepping back and taking a new look at things before he died.

Art Monk not getting was a surprise. And I guess the sports writers are still holding a grudge against Irvan and his off court stupidity.

More reason why the Writers shouldnt have any say except for the broadcasting wing.

Congratulations to John Madden. I actually watched the Raiders when he was their coach. He truly understood the nuances of the game and was able to get more from his players than any other coach in recent memory. Glad to see he got in while he could still enjoy it.

I am suprised why Madden didn't get in the HOF sooner.
I was a Raider & Niner Fan back in the day, until Davis traded Stabler for Pastorini and then moved to LA. I think Madden never got the respect he deserved as a coach because Davis got all the credit for the teams success. Everyone thought he was the genius who brought in players who didn't work out other places and made them successful. Madden was widely viewed as a big unkempt buffoon who yelled and threw his arms around on the sidelines. What he was in fact was a great coach who treated the players as adults, not children, and understood the game and what it takes to win. Only after he started his TV analyst career and wrote his first book, did people start to understand.

Does some of this scenario sound familiar to Kings fans?
