Maybe because the mainstream can't stand looking at names that are spelled LiKe tHiS.

But more likely because their production isn't as clean, and they don't have broad market appeal. And because if they were on MTV you wouldn't like them because they would be "mainstream".

Most of mainstream hip hop today sucks big time.

I'm partial to acts like Jurassic 5 (GREAT group), Dilated Peoples, Talib Kweli, Blackalicious, Hieroglyphics, and Ugly Duckling
