He was an Indiana farm boy. He met my mom when he was stationed in California before he went overseas. When he returned, they married and started their family. He worked hard, sometimes at multiple jobs, but never failed to have time for his kids. He loved basketball, baseball, fishing and camping - and I learned to love them, too. He helped me learn a lot of lessons early in life. He had a motto I've always remembered - Do it right the first time and you only have to do it once. His family meant everything to him. He formed a bond with his granddaughter (known around here as Kingsgirl4) that she's never forgotten, even though she was only 8 when he passed away. He was so much more than just a father. He was my dad.
