Fantasy/Reality hybrid music game help needed!

Okay,

I do fantasy drafts with guys at work (inspired by KF.com) and I have a new and interesting concept.

Instead of a fantasy draft, we will run a mix-cd draft. Here is how it works (this is a working concept so please pitch in):

We all (there are three of us) pitch in and buy 100 CDR and three 25 CD holders on the cheap. We will do a disc for each letter of the alphabet, but combine QXYZ on one disc (is that the best combination?) for a total of 24 discs. Starting with the letter "A" here is how it will work.

Each GM takes turns drafting songs, but is only alotted 26 minutes (a cdr holds 80 minutes, divided by three with a little bumper). Standard alphabetization will work fine (Billy Joel and Journey are both under "J")

The draft will be a standard draft (1,2,3,1,2,3) and who picks 1st will rotate once the order is determined.

When you select a song, the other GMs must vote on the song before you pick again.

The votes would be something like:
+1 for favoring the pick
0 for songs the voters do not know or if their opinion of the song is neutral
-1 if they do not like the pick

IF your pick gets all negative ratings (a -2) it is eliminated. Also, each GM gets one "Veto" to eliminate a pick per disc.

If your pick gets a -1 to a +2, it gets put on the CD and your total points for the whole disc = your score. Your score includes any eliminated songs, vetoed songs are given 0 points (to avoid overuse of veto).

If your list ends up being exactly 26 minutes, you get +5 points. If no one is exactly 26 minutes, the closest GM gets +2 points. No list is allowed to go over 26 minutes.

Once the lists are complete, each GM must produce their picks, scratch free, on CD (so the GMs must keep that in mind). The list is ranomized and burned to three CDRs and each GM is given disc "A".

This draft will continue until A-Z is complete and overall scores will be compiled to determine the champ.

I know this seems a bit complex, but what do you think? Opinions, thoughts, changes, concepts, any ideas PLEASE!

Thanks!

 Crap! This is the wrong thread to look at before you write an essay concerning Victorian era English literature.

This reminds me of being a dungeon master. You have yourself a pretty sophisticated scheme going on there, are you sure your friends are down to get into something so potentially involved and consuming? That looks like it could take weeks.

Maybe, instead of going with 24 discs, I could shoot for a couple themed discs.

But what themes?

Christmas?
Country songs by Rock bands?
Humorous rap songs?
Songs by women?
Songs that rock?
Songs about food?
???

I know: The soundtrack of your life, or the most transformative songs of all time.

I always wonder what my soundtrack would be.
