Here are the excerpts that pertain in some way to the Kings:

Mr. Robinson's new neighborhood

Glenn Robinson was a small footnote to the Chris Webber-related dealings in February, but look who's in the NBA Finals.

After Philadelphia acquired the former Kings forward, Robinson was shipped to New Orleans and later was waived. Robinson signed a free-agent deal to be an off-the-bench scorer for San Antonio after Spurs coach Gregg Popovich received a glowing recommendation from Don Newman, the former Sacramento State coach and Milwaukee Bucks assistant when Robinson was a member of that franchise.

Baseline jumpers

* The 52 points that Bobby Jackson dropped Thursday night was pure affordable entertainment in the Sacramento Professional Developmental League at Capital Christian Center. The only thing that came close was the 49 Mike Bibby scored and the 30 teammate Matt Barnes offered against Jackson's club in the down-to-the-wire triumph.

Bibby made his first six three-pointers, all swishes, all from 28 feet or more.

* Jackson is so competitive that he punted the ball into the rafters late, agonizing over a non-call, never mind that Tony Padilla is as good a ref as the area has ever produced. Player and ref smiled about the scene later.

That game would have been fun to watch. Do the other guys on their teams even get to touch the ball?
