so the rockets come away with kmart and a lottery pick while the kings get landry, hughes and dorsey? ugg cant be...

The report I read had the Kings keeping KT's contract. The Kings would get Landry and Dorsey from Houston and Hughes from NY. The Knicks would recieve Sergio and T. Mac. Houston would recieve Martin and Jefferies along with NY's 2012 first round pick and the right to exchange picks with the Knicks in 2011. There was nothing of Hill mentioned in the trade I saw.

Well, I was really hoping the Kings would hit the jackpot today but I suspect that this was part of the trade all along. It did seem too good to be true that we would also get TMac and trade him for kids and picks.

Hughes will expire this season and we'll still have the opportunity to sign a David Lee type player in the offseason if the Maloofs want to spend the money.

All in all, I still think this was a successful trade for the Kings.

I'll take it! Bye TMac, dont let the door hit you on the way to NYC! We just saved a BUTT load of money for this offseason...at this point, I think we'd be better off just buying out Hughes too.

I agree about Hughes. I don't want him anywhere near this team. He is pure garbage. It's great that the Kings will have a lot of cap space but it's meaningless unless the Maloofs are willing to use it which I'm not convinced of.

Look guys, we essentially traded Martin for Landry and cap space at the end of this season. We'll have close to 26 mil in cap space to sign freeagents. Landry is a pretty darn good player whose tough. Exactly the type of player we need.

I like Landry a lot but come on the rockets just got Martin and a first rounder if the report is correct for a player not even on the team. Thats value.

I like Landry, but how many undersized big men can GP acumulate? May? Brock? K9? And now Landry...wow. What a horrible deal.

I agree but do you think we will actually use the 26m or will the Maloofs just have a lower payroll so they don't lose as much money?

I dont mean to be a nay-sayer, but the exact type of player the Kings need is alot taller than landry.

I love this. We moved Kev, acquired Landry and Dorsey, and now have Hughes and KT coming off the books. Well done Petrie! Landry is a steal for 3M per, Dorsey is athletic, physical, with an upside, and he have just given ourselves more options this summer with all the cap space. Again, well done Petrie!

EXACTAMUNDO! The Maloofs already said they were now willing to spend money again if it means making the team better...so I think the money saved THIS year will go a long way in what we get for NEXT year!

Since Houston relented and essentially agreed to the original NY deal that they could have made without us, the Knicks had no reason to give us anything. Houston is providing them the cap space they wanted; we are providing them nothing. Martin for Landry/Dorsey is really a separate deal. We only acted as a go-between for the two differently-sized expirings of T-Mac and Hughes.

The knicks are in trouble IMO. Lebron will resign with the Cavs and the knicks will be stuck with David lee and 50 million dollars in cap space.

But Wade is available too...that's still a big possibility, I say NY did okay too...they finally cleaned up Isaiah Thomas's mess.

Kings continue to bleed talent....couldn't we have at least gotten in on those picks? Little dissapointing on our end. Rockets come up big time in this deal IMO.

This trade is garbage. I'm tired of salary dumps, and I really dont trust Petrie with the ability to make wise free agent signings.

Lee is a freeagent at the end of this year, so unless they resign him they will have nothing to show for their efforts if they can't resign one of the big names. In fact, we could very well sign Lee in the offseason. I'm not suggesting that we do. I'm just saying....
