nice to see that kobes making another a** of himself... this guys head is just in another world... i think its cause he grew up in italy he doesnt know how to cope with those that grew up here...

and also, why the f***!!!! didnt he get ejected RIGHT after the elbow... any other player would have been ejected IMMEDIATELY... the refs wanted to keep him in the game to give the lakers a chance to win... oh well, all this means is 2 more losses for the lakers... i love it!!

yeah, that is some b.s. that he stayed in the game. anthony peeler sure didn't get that treatment.

Kobe will rought in basketball mediocrity forever.....

Oh and by the way I'm going to vegas in the morning.... If there's any wierd posts by me late on new years eve or early new years day it aint my fault lol...

Yeah I wish the Kings could have had Shaq too...;)

Kobe is a bad teamate, the evidence continues to mount.

I caught the clip on the news and switched to NBATV to try to see it again. They showed Kobe get hurt but didn't mention or show Kobe's "payback" move. I'm sure they aren't allowed to show anything that makes poor misunderstood Kobe look bad.

After watching it later, That wasn't a foul, it was an assault! It reminded me of Kermit Washington nailing Rudy T! He deserves more than two games off. (Washington got 60) What crap!

Agree with the selective editing by NBATV. How is a flagrant foul by Kobe not worthy of being shown in the recap, especially when L.A. loses by one point? They showed him getting stitches, and then coming into the game and hitting shots like he was on fire. They fluffed him up.

Here's a thought... instead of reverting to past accomplishments, how about you try to defend your boy wonder's current shinanegans? Throwing an elbow at an opponent, squaring off against a teammate, crying about a much deserved suspension... but it's ok (insert laker fan mantra)... we got 3 rings, bling bling, kings got none, bling bling...

give me a break...

Kings didn't need Shaq to win titles. They could've won w/o Kobe being Shaq's teammate.

Put your faith in Pete Vescey. I'll put mine in Lamar Odom.

I don't think hoopsfan is defending Kobe's elbow. Don't vescey her.

I am defending it, however. Next time, he needs to plant his elbow in the sternum of the next guy in (the growing) line of punks who tries to send a hard foul message to him. That way he won't be suspended. Intentionally flagrant elbows to the sternum are OK as legislated by the league. Either that or he can clothesline the offender.

Are we in agreement that these tactics are preferable to elbows?...because you evidently didn't have a problem with Wade or Howard doing these things to Kobe.

Oh yeah.. even the elbow to Miller was a b**ch move. He even looked sorry for doing it, and now he's trying to sell himself as a tough guy.

Of course, you didn't watch the entire play and yet you're speaking on it. Too often, that happens when Kobe is concerned. I will clarify: He was looking down at Miller with a smirk on his face. I don't think that constitutes sorrow.

PS: I know for fact (by being a member here at the time) that many of you were cheering Peeler for knocking Garnett in the jaw w/ his elbow in retaliation. I'm starting to wonder if that's kinda hypocritical.

So it's ok for Kobe to retaliate, but I'm supposed to have a problem with Howard when he does the same? Let's not forget what Kobe had done to Nowitzki minutes before...

What he did to Nowitzki wasn't intentional. What Howard did to Kobe was.

I'm only trying to point out the hypocrisy of the NBA's judgments on suspensions. I've done that countless times on this site. Why is an intentional elbow OK sometimes and not others? Same for a straightarm to the throat being OK, but an elbow not being OK. If they want to clean up elbowing, clotheslining, hard-and-dirty message fouls, they need to have a no tolerance policy.

I'm sorry, but the way they handled Kobe, Malone (on Nash), and even Peeler (on Garnett) is total BS if they're going to go limp when Wade throws an intentional elbow in Kobe's chest and in EVERY other similar circumstance from now on no matter who's involved. I'm tired of the double standards. Last year, I ranted on and on about the double standard Artest received for starting a fight as opposed to O'Neal who did MUCH worse (sliding blindsided punch to an unsuspecting fan who walked on the court).

As long as this double standard exists, players should rightfully have no hesitance to send messages in the "acceptable" ways.

Lakers fans officially losing it. Talk about putting your blinders on, how many teamates is Kobe going to brawl with before you can admit it.

Because I commented on NBATV's selective editing means I've not seen the play?

I believe Odom and Mihm, not Vescey. Vescey made the part about Kobe swinging twice on Josh Howard in an effort to further twist the knife in that slam piece. He put that in there because he knew most people would believe it (esp since it wasn't a nationally televised game w/ a huge audience).

If he really DID think he saw that, he's psychotic. Now...you're telling us that we're losing it for not believing PETE VESCEY? -- A hack who blatantly made up at least one part of the article right off the bat? Nope. I like to keep distance from Vescey's type of reporting. You can believe him if you must, I'd just hope that you don't knock him then next time he writes a steaming pile of crap about the Kings.
