Do you think this guy will get another chance somewhere else?

Back as an assistant someplace or as an NBDL head coach. I never thought for a second Eddie Jordan was worth all the hype and said so here many times. Failed miserably everywhere he's been.

I don't know if you can say he's failed "miserably" everywhere he's been. He guided the Washington Wizards and made them a winning team for the most part for 4 years.

Poor Eddie - the three time loser, Sac, Wash, and now Philly.
.412 W-L % @ 257 W - 343 L. Not too good to say the least. I prefer overall stunningly miserable;)

Yeah, I think "miserably" is overstating it, but not by much. He's certainly not the kind of guy who is going to make you a winner. Maybe Westphal isn't either, but at least he's coached a contender before, and maybe he IS the guy who will take us there. There's a chance, a hope, at least. But Eddie Jordan was decidedly NOT that guy, and I thought it was clear to most, which is why there was a huge anti-Eddie Jordan sentiment on this board and in general last summer. I'm incredibly happy we didn't choose him.

I don't think EJ was considered for a second by anyone who is anyone in Kings FO. He wasn't interviewed leading up to PW hiring. You really have to wonder about a guy who constantly runs "his" sacred Princeton offense no matter what personnel he has. I question the dudes basketball IQ - at least at NBA level.

LOL, wow, a lot of Eddie Jordan hate. I don't really know much about him but it's interesting that he's not well liked by, well, anybody.

Why do you use the word HATE? No one said they hated EJ. If you would have read dozens of posts here about the time Reggie or PW was hired and EJ supposedly in the mix no one said they hated him. Some made their points about his work with the Kings, how he was a disciple of the Princeton offense under Coachie and all the rest. Most simply thought he was a mediocre coach at best and should not become next Kings head coach - again!

You can be incompetent as evidence shows Jordan is and not the focus of hate. That is a strong word I would respectfully submit you should not just toss around flippantly. Calling lots of clear thinking folks haters starts to lose any REAL meaning otherwise. Now if you would have said that you personally "loved" Eddie Jordan as a coach that would have been an opinion that everyone could respect even if they didn't love him just the same:)

Personally, I like using the word "hate." Obviously, it's a figure of speech. I don't really think anybody hates him. For some reason, our society wants to outlaw that word. I'm not sure why. It reminds me of the great novel "1984" when they would remove words and it would be like they never existed.

I figured no body hates him personally. Figured it was just a shorthand way of saying they hate him as a head coach.

The term doesn't mean the same thing it once did. I don't really care for the new usage but complaining about it gives me the whole "Get off my lawn" vibe. Language is constantly evolving, for better or worse. My experiences with Chaucer in high school have me leaning towards the former. :)

I think he would have done better here where we have a grip on the Princeton offense already but he didn't work out there at all. IDK if he'll get another shot at head coach immediately but he should find work.

Doesnt he mostly run the princeton offense

i dont know maybe the reason he hasnt had a successful coaching career is because he gets into places that doesnt have princeton type players...

too bad for him

He's the one trying to force a square peg into a round hole. If you don't have the players to run your system, then you should change your system. It's really that simple. Otherwise, you wind up coaching a loser and getting fired after one year on the job.

Yea I agree but I don't think he will be back as an assistant coach.
