Dwyane Wade!!!

refs beat the mavs and wade's a whiny, crybaby punk. i really hate the "superstar" treatment wade and lebron get.

Yep that's Wade...and LeBron too for that matter. Truly obnoxious punks.

Alternately they could be two of the classiest young stars to come into the sport in a long time, but hey, what do I know?

Wade was incredible to watch last night.

He wasn't fouled on the last drive (at least not a game-winning free throws worthy type foul), but oh well, don't care which team wins, the more excitement the better ;)

Heh, better hope your Kings don't get to the Finals next season. Because if Miami gets there again RonRon will foul out by halftime.

You have a clean cut young kid like Harris getting whistled for barely bumping Wade. What do you think Stern will allow Mr. Brawl to do?

People can laugh it off since it's the Mavericks but that Miami team isn't going anywhere for the next 3 years and with the eastern conference being so sorry you can count on Miami getting back to the Finals again.

Next time Wade gets another record breaking FT night you could be on the bad side of it.

that last call that wade drew did seem to be one of those iffy calls that refs generally don't call in the last minutes of a playoff game. But im more surprised at just how ineffective dallas' bigs are against Shaq, especially Dampier hes lookin like a total wuss. To put it bluntly, we had a chain smokin old Serb who did a better job against a younger Shaq.

Check the game thread. Wade wasn't fouled once, he was fouled by both Harris and Dirk. Pretty much a no-brainer on calling it...

I look at the number of fantastic players coming into their own in our league and it really impresses me. Guys like Dwayne Wade, LeBron James, Dwight Howard, etc. are the future of the NBA. It's truly a shame that some fans (not you, Big Song!) are so partial to their own teams that they cannot see greatness right in front of them.

but the fouls (didn't look like harris fouled him when i was watching, but i probably missed it) seemed so minute that it didn't even really affect wade's path (his movement on the drive looked more like he was trying to get by everyone, thus the off-balanceness of it). i really do think that he was given the benefit of the doubt, and if it were devin harris they wouldn't have called it.

in those situations in most of the games i've seen, the refs don't give you free throws to decide the game. no knock on wade or any of the other superstars, but it's not fair (e.g. lebron's travel in the wiz-cavs series).

Harris grabbed his arm from the right as he went by almost at exactly the same time as Dirk was shoving him from the left... I still don't see how they could NOT call it. The only debate was whether to call Harris or Dirk IMO.

Indeed.

I just wish the Pacers could get their hands on a guy like that. Cause without that kind of player, they won't stand a chance in the future. Some very special young players in the Eastern conference right now.

No questions from me, awesome clutch performance.:D I'm just waiting for the "LBJ" could have done that, LBJ is still better comments
That's funny, because I'm waiting for someone to explain how (to say nothing of why) Dwyane Wade's greatness takes away from LeBron James' greatness.

And let's keep it real: Wade had Lamar Odom and Caron Butler in his rookie season and, ever since then, he's had Shaq; the same guy that made Kobe Bryant a star. The same guy who made Anfernee Hardaway look like a star. Shaq, at a mere shadow of his former self, is still twice as good as Zydrunas Ilgauskas. I mean, it's all well to give Wade his propers for playing great on the greatest stage whereas LeBron James has yet to advance out of the second round, but let's not pretend that Wade has gotten further with equal or lesser talent.

And I'd like to see how far either one of them could get if they swapped teams with Chris Bosh.

Well, congradulations Wade! Those 2 missed late freethrows could have been huge, but in the end, his 36 points and 10 rebounds were superstar stuff. Awesome.

i would feel better if the refs didn't help him so much. i don't deny he's a superstar, but its wrong when he gets that extra boost from the bennet salvatores and the joe crawfords.

Dwayne Wade = AMAZING!!

When can we sign him? ;)

speaking of wade signing, i don't think he should re-sign with the heat. everyone beside wade on the heat is on the decline. in three years, miami will be paying a 37 year-old shaq $20 million and paying wade the max. they won't have money for anyone else

And to think, the already elite Detroit Pistons could've had him... and lost their main competitor... all in one draft pick.

Ah...let me withdraw my "er?" in the other thread. I was missing the reference to the Darko pick. Oops indeed. Although of course Dumars couold also have ended up taking Melo or Bosh instead of Wade.

hindsight is 20/20. also, wade would not have developed like he has if he was drafted by the pistons. he would simply not be at the level he is at now. (note: i am not arguing that the pistons shouldn't have taken him).

Finally, Wade was the 5th pick, and perhaps the best.

time will of course tell us for sure. however, he's the only one in that great draft class with a ring, so he gets the benefit of the doubt from me for the time being.

and he's such a nice young man, too. :)
