Last year, the Western Conference came down to the wire with first place decided by a head-to-head tie breaker. With such a tight race, it's going to be impossible to tell where teams will stack up in the Western Conference this year, but I'm going to try anyway. The Kings earned the No. 9 seed in the Western Conference last year. Enter DeMar DeRozan.

Dallas just won the West as a 5 seed....and made it to the West finals as a 4 seed in '22. The conference has been open for a while now

that might be how it is moving forward. Front offices are getting smarter, players are playing better for longer and the influx of international players has the NBA bursting at the seams with talent. Just git in and hope you find a favorable matchup and a bit of luck.

Yeah, but that Mavs record was boosted post trade deadline. We obviously have to see what this trade deadline looks like but as it's sits now the parity is there. It might not be at the deadline though. That's kind of been a thing for the last two seasons as well. The deadline shook up the conference and teams including the Kings kind of got passed over either in the regular season or come playoff time.

If Derozan had gone to the Lakers they would have definitely done their homework. But he went to the....Kings. Blah. No story there, nobody cares
