gonna have to go with dimedropper here if it were a offensive game dimedropper would dominated, Mutombo would negate ewing, DWill doesnt have the size to deal with magic

Im on the fence here.

I can feasibly see either team take the other.
And each team has 2 or 3 picks that I hate.

Hmm...
I might take the full three days for this one.

I liked Kings Faithul's Ewing/Eriving pairing, and I liked the coaches. After that though there wasn't much to grab hold of but a whole slew of good but not great current players with little high level playoff experience.

My team is a defensive powerhouse as well as offensive. I could have gone with some sexier picks at some points but I wanted a team that would play together and suit eachother.

You mind me asking what picks of mine you don't like?

Dime Dropper's team = BORING

A team with Magic running the show boring?! And maravich off the bench?!

I did vote for you in this matchup, but one of the initial things that threw me off a bit during the ranking process was Iggy starting over Pistol Pete.

I know he would definitely bring a spark, but was there any other reasoning behind this?

Better defender, better athlete, needs the ball less. Maravich was of course the better player, but Pistol will give me my star off the bench. Also, I'd prefer to have Pete playing both the 1 and 2, which he wouldn't be able to do as a starter.

You do not want to play Pete at the 1, any more than you would play Jason Kidd - if you had him - at the 2.

Pistol Pete was explosive, he was dynamic and he was about as pure a shooting guard as this league has ever seen. I voted for you in good part because of Pistol Pete on your roster. But if you don't utilize him properly, he might as well be Quincy Douby.

Got it. Those are very legit reasons. I just couldn't get over seeing Pistol Pete coming off the bench. :)

Very true as well.

I thought KingsFaithful's team was a lot better than the overall consensus, but dimedropper's is better yet still.

The only thing that might be hurting him is the coaching job Mike Brown is doing right now. I'd think he'd have been a coach to go a bit lower if this draft had taken place a few weeks after it did.

Unfortunately, I'm too young to have seen him play. I was under the impression that he could play the one. Nonetheless, I think my position still stands in that Pistol Pete fits in the best on my second unit. He was a great passer for a SG so the ball can still go through him. Robertson was always going to be my primary PG off the bench, anyway, so it's no biggie.

Pete is still going to play a huge part on my team and may start depending on the matchup.

Pistol Pete + Magic easily make up for coaching deficiencies in this round...

I don't have coaching deficiencies. I have the best defensive assistant coach in the NBA and the current COY. Obviously not the best ever, but these picks are all meant to be in their prime, and a head coach who coaches a team to 66 wins is a good coach. A few shaky games by the Cavs in the POs doesn't change that. If some of the Cavs players other than Lebron decided to make a damn layup we wouldn't be having this conversation! :D

I think you might be overrating Mike Brown... He does have Lebron, aside from Lebron carrying them from past years what has Mike Brown proven?

+1

Sam Mitchell and Rick Carlisle were also COY. Del Harris, anyone?

I just don't think that Mike Brown has done anything of note yet. Clearly though, the players are there for you to win this round.

Hmm... I'm doing better than I thought I would. O well, add another to my collection of first round exits... Luckily I only have 2. Then again I've only played in two drafts...

I think so too. :p

Look, you're simply not going to find a coach who's won significantly without good players.

Brown has done an excellent job. If you look at his achievements which I've posted, you'll see that. It's nothing groundbreaking, but he is a good coach. The fact is that the Cavs just aren't that good bar Lebron. He carries them. His supporting cast is mediocre at best. Brown has to get some credit for that, too.

He is a very good defensive coach and has learned from the best (Pop). His pairing with Thibodeau is perfect. I don't like the way you're saying my players are good enough for "this round". My coaches are good enough to win this thing, like it or not.

Great coach as Phil Jackson is, you're absolutely insane if you think he would have so many rings without MJ/Pip/Kobe/Shaq. Coaches need good players to succeed. End of.

Dude, I'm not here to kick your dog. I'm just stating my opinion. It's a fantasy battle and I need to reason things out. I'm sorry you don't agree.
