Well, we are down to the wire.....almost. While I think Paris could go up or down a spot, and Black could be the tiebreaker, I don't think I'll be too far offs. So, all in all, I'm okay with my last entry and I'm gonna stick with it. Then again, I do have about 3 hours to change my mind.

Purple Reign's Updated 2009 WNBA Mock Draft

1. Atlanta - Renee Montgomery, UConn
I think Montgomery has played her way into the Number #1 spot, and in my view McCoughtry played her way out. Atlanta needs to sell tickets. I do believe Montgomery can do that, plus give them solid leadership.

2. Washington - Marissa Coleman, Maryland
Home grown talent at a position of need.

3. Chicago - Angel McCoughtry, Louisville
To me this is the perfect fit for Angel. A front line of DuPree + Fowles + McCoughtry= Playoffs in 2009.

4. Minnesota - Courtney Paris, Oklahoma
Minny needs an anchor in the post. There is no bigger anchor than CP3

5. Phoenix - DeWanna Bonner, Auburn
This is where the draft gets tricky. Bonner has a silky smooth SF game in a PF body (as far as height) that can fit in with the run and gun system of the Mercury.

6. Indiana - Kristi Tolliver, Maryland
Fever need scoring. She is the point guard of the future.

7. Sacramento - Shavonte Zellous, Pittsburgh
I still believe that Kara Lawson is the PG of the future. Lately, many prognosticators have Monarchs choosing January at this spot. I still believe that Zellous fits a serious need that neither Robinson and Newton can fill combined; an athletic perimeter player that can create her own shot and can consistantly stick a mid range jumper and get to the basket. Defense be damned!!! We have enough defenders. Zellous is an offensive threat in the mold of Deana Nolan.
