All-Star
A few ideas for a lazy Friday

Trade #1
Boston outgoing:
Wally Szczerbiak
Tony Allen
#5

Boston incoming:
Marcus Camby
John Salmons

Denver outgoing:
Marcus Camby

Denver incoming:
Ron Artest

Sacramento outgoing:
Ron Artest
John Salmons

Sacramento incoming:
Wally Szczerbiak
Tony Allen
#5

Trade #2
Pick #10 to Detroit for Picks #15, #27, #57

(Detroit doesn't really need a bunch of projects and will likely be looking to move up, maybe for someone like Acie Law)

Draft:
#5: Yi Jianlian
#15: Thaddeus Young
#27: Kryrolo Fesenko
#57: Avis Wyatt

Just kind of like the idea of both trading up and trading down.

Why does Boston do this?

They give up a #5 for an oft injured C, and a 7th man. Boston would need to get more out of the deal.

Why would Denver need another SF with Melo? Plus they already have 2 guys that need the ball in their hands.

Well, the idea is to win now. They need to get a defensive C to go with Al Jefferson and some more veteran help. They can keep stockpiling young players, but at some point they're going to have to try and win. Would they get more out of Camby and Salmons than they would the #5 in the next two or three years? I think they would. Of course, you can't count on them to be realistic.

And the Artest to Denver thing is based on those unsubstantiated rumors, although it makes sense for them to get some defensive help on the wings and also get some cap relief since they're so far into luxury tax territory.

If the Camby/Artest interest is real on Denver's part - I'd just like to pull the trigger on that straight up trade (unless we can also swindle them or a third team into taking Kenny Thomas somehow)

I don't think Camby, and Salmons would take them from where they are now to the playoffs though. Even if it did they would be one and out. I would much rather have the pick, and package Pierce for someone a couple years down the road.

Getting rid of Wally would also be considered a huge plus. Camby has ties in the area. As both a Kings and Celts fan I don't really care for this move at all.

I would like a deal to move Bibby to the Celts in exchange for their pick for both teams though.
