Dont look now

The Kings aren't Championship calibur, but I don't see them as 1st round fodder either. Doesn't anyone here know the phrase "Anything can happen in the playoffs"? I bet there wasn't anyone who thought that Denver was anything but 1st round fodder the year that they upset George Carl's Sonics (94 i think?)

Just for the record, I would love to be proven wrong. I would absolutely love this team to find the strength inside to defy ALL the odds.

I have one favor to ask of those of you who are firmly in the camp of "They can do it! They will do it"... If they DON'T do it, please try not to crucify them for their "failings."

It's your expectations for them that will have failed. Not any promises or anything this new team made.

So do you have enough faith to go to Vegas and drop a bunch of money on the Kings?

I live in LV and I don't have a bunch of money.

Damn! You know what? You just ruined it for me. Kings are gonna get swept the first round.

Thanks!

Just curious why a few dont want to face Dallas in the first round. The Lakers beat them twice last week. I think we can still take Dallas in a 7 game series. Especially if/after Brad and Bobby come back.

The Kings just don't match up well with the Mavs. The Mavs built themselves on a model very similar to the Kings, in many ways modelled after the Kings. And right now, the Mavs just have better players all around meaning that it would be extremely difficult to win, even more so considering the injuries. With systems so similar, down to the celebrity owners, its hard to have a lot of hope when so many of the x-factors go against the Kings.

I don't know, I still like the Dallas matchup. The opponent we know and have confidence against. Be tough since Webb was always the big separating factor there, but Peja has always done a good job on Dirk, and the Mavs aren't the sort of team to squeeze you defensively so you can just play your own game.

honestly, im just tired of playing dallas in the playoffs. seattle or phoenix would be a nice change of scenery. hell, even the spurs. when was the last time we saw those guys in the playoffs?

dallas vs. sacramento is getting really old. win or lose, id rather see something new, maybe it would be more entertaining

Much as I hate to say this, the Lakers have something the Kings don't in a matchup against the Mavs --- Kobe. He was unstoppable in those two games. The Kings don't have that unstoppable force at this point, and don't even have matchups that really favor them anymore, especially if Peja is going to let Josh Howard become yet another "Peja stopper".
